Extremely disappointed

Seems my first post got nuked so reposting - sorry if someone can read the first post.

Wow, where to begin. I have been playing strategy games since the early 90s. MOM was/is one of my all time favorites. I have really enjoyed other Stardock strategy games.

But this? How could you BLOW THIS??

I am amazed at how crappy this game is. Several good posts with solid feedback and I cant be bothered to waste more of my time and money on this. But please, take the feedback into consideration, then scrap this game and give me my money back.

This game cant be saved. It needs a total rework. Please use a designer with experience the next time. Also, spend some time and money on the GUI, graphics, manual, tutorial and sound.

I would have been surprised at the poor quality of this game had it been released in the late nineties. Releasing this in 2010 and not as freeware is highway robbery.

PS Did I say that I am really disappointed? Oh well, Civ5 is coming in a few months.

You're free to email [email protected] and ask for a refund. Game needs constructive feedback, not "you suck".

PS Getting CTD with divx error after tabbing out, also this game is sluggish as a snail with parkinson and just as pretty.

Mindless trolling, where would a forum be without it?

You don't think perhaps explaining why you're disappointed, what you don't like or similar might be helpful? Because all I get from your post at the minute is that you're disappointed, and personally, I'm not sure why you'd think we care?

Like I said, this game has made so many poor design decisions that it isnt really salvageable.

I am a program manager for major IT projects. I would have been ashamed to sell this to paying customers.

Obviously Stardock is struggling financially, they would not release a poor game like this otherwise unless they needed immediate cashflow.

So... you don't like it because of the graphics, GUI, manual, tutorial, and sound? They should scrap it?

I agree that all of these elements have faults:

  • The GUI is a little clunky and hard to find things.
  • There is no tutorial. Although Stardock employees have repeatedly stated that the Campaign can be used as a tutorial.
  • The sound needs a little more inspiration, better sound effects, more music, and much better unit acknowledgments.

Regardless, it's still a good game. What, specifically, do you find to be so poor with Elemental? And, furthermore, what did you expect after the videos, screenshots, and features of it?
