Oh yes, but of course I have a dream my system will have no bugs, so I can enjoy the beta from day 1. Hopefully I don't get cancer at least. I'm too young to die, and this game I want to have fun with for years to come.

No girl is so good looking as this game, my friend! ;) Edit: NB! But at least girls works for multiplayer..... :D

Wow, must say I love Stardock Central. So practical and straight forward. Thumbs up. Can't wait for the download to arrive! :D (Damn, it's hard to live in Norway when Stardock follow eastern US time...... still 3.5 h to go I guess.....)
Quoting Cayyman, reply 93 I am actually very happy with the no multiplayer decision. I for myself do not want to single player experience diluted. Since we (my spouse and I ) like to play together (hotseat, always allied) i am not that happy with no multiplayer. But then, maybe this is an option to implement which could be done without rewriting tactical combat?
I hoped
So we are going to have to buy an expansion to get multiplayer? Seems kind of like a cheap way to make money off people who already stuck around this long or am I just reading the OP wrong?
I'd gladly pay 1000 dollars for a mp exp of this game, if it turns out so good as it seems. And no reasons to change the gameplay because of mp. It's the SP gameplay we all want to see in MP too. No reason to sup
Quoting Cackfiend, reply 22 There will be NO multiplayer .The release game won’t have it either. We may bring it back in some future expansion but no promises because rewriting tactical is a non-trivial endeavor. you cant seriously mean FE wont have multiplayer once it comes out of beta, right? OK, if he abandons some of his silly ideas; like ponies..... ;)
Ditto. I'm so sad. Wish I could play this brilliant game with my friends, and the people from the "No Quitters" Civilization Steam site. Guess I could have made at least 30-40 more people to buy this game only among among the 580 members there. Well, well; the game itself looks brilliant. But if sp only I wont play it as much as if it was mp. I hoped for an alternative for Civilization 5 (that game I only play multiplayer, and I play it alot; 1500 h since release.)
Amazing video. Nice to see this looks like a great strategy game now, with loads of important choices to make. I have the feeling this is shaping up to be an instant classic. (Seen video twice now, guess I'll be getting a coke and some snacks and watch it a few more times. Very interesting stuff.)
I'm not among the facebook users either, the concept of facebook is not for intelligent people. :) But anyways, good idea to be there too, I guess.
I really don't like the idea some ppl have for Civ5 like autoboats for this game. It works well in Civ after they implemented One Unit per Tile, but in a game with armies (many units collectet in one tile doing their own tactical battles) I would not like it. If Frog can make the AI understand how to enter and use transports, why do it in another manner?
I thought units could move across water Civ 5 style? Naval stuff is my biggest request for an added feature for the 2nd expansion right now though.
What make you think Civ5 style transports are a good idea for the Elemental games? This is not a one unit per tile game.
Oh yes, if it has multiplayer that plays like the single player (perhaps even with simultanious turns) I will force my buddies to buy it, or even buy it for them. To topic; I must say the maps look splendid and interesting, and that I'm impressed of what the RMG seems capable of. :) If I'm going to judge from the pictures it is alot better then the RMG from HOMM 3 and 5.
Yeah, I think it looks good, and a huge step up from WoM.
I totally agree with Black-Knight. Many games have had this spell, like the Heroes-series too, and it's always a game/fun ruiner. Plz nerf it drastically to a set amount of tiles you can move for free or remove it completely. It does not add anything to strategy or fun, and I have never liked it in any game.
The solution is to make it as it seems to be now, but isn't. I explain. Keep the system as it is now, but have the local population in each city determine how many buildings you can build, not the surplus population in the whole empire. For pop you need housing and food. If you want a really huge capital you will have to import alot of the food from the others cities, making their potential smaller again. This will balance itself out very good. Alot of small cities buildt tight together m
Yes; Fallen E. first, then improved dynasties and sea stuff, continued AI development and diplomacy improvements. Then some day we will have the best 4x game ever. One that won't be challenged for centuries to come, or at least won't be challenged until Elemental II sees the light of day.
I think the solution is to make the population of the single city to count when it comes to making new buildings. Not the pop. of the whole empire. Then small cities can't build an archery range or buildings improving recruitment time. I they still use the population for those things, the city will be highly specialized for unit training, but not much else. I think that is a good balance, and it's not laying limits on how huge a city can be, wit
I think water is essential to make Elemental the best game ever, and that is what it shall be, nothing less. My guess is they will not implemet great stuff at sea just now, but later on. It's needed to make the game feel complete, and to increase replayability with more different kinds of maps, like islands and continents. And of course: sea exploration, quests limited to the sea, and naval landings etc. makes for more interesting strategies in itself.
I was playing this game during the original beta, and right after release. As all of us I love the concepts of this game, but was abit disapointed of what was delivered at release day. Now, with 1.2 out, I have been starting to play Elemental again, and what a joy. I play on hard, because I love challenges, and I'm really having a good time. Still think the AI build too many cities, instead of being patient and wait for boarders to grow and cover more ressources. I was never a fan
Me too, huge maps, epic long games! And I want to play games like that in multiplayer as well!!! :D But I hate the map spammed with cities in a fantasy game. New ideas in the expansion sounds great, building a more mysterious world with wild untouched land. Perhaps it should only be possible to build cities on some pockets here and there of special fertile land? Kadrium wrote: Additionally, on extreme map sizes, there's just so much work t
What is making everything so difficult is the fact we do not have 1 tile cities and workers. Tiles ar just used to place buildings on. This also spams up the maps with urbanism. There should also be ruins of old cities arround, and if you build a new city on those tiles you got a great bonus, to prevent people building cities everywhere. Special ressources, excisting and upcoming, should also appear in clusters arround those few and great city sites.

Or perhaps Stardock is going to make it's own non space Civilization game? That would be awesome indeed!I don't see why they would. You can do more in a fictional setting, because if you want a gameplay element you can generally brainstorm a fluff justification for it. In a historical setti
I welcome Jon to Stardock of all my heart, even though I would like to see him design the expansion packs for Civ5 as well....
