I discovered another kingdom on a small peninsula after i "accidentally" plopped down a city by the only entrance to that peninsula. So he's been locked in there with his 1 city now for a good 100 turns :D

Never ever gonna play a game without AA :P Frogboy, how about the LOD settings in the city improvements? I've seen some market buildings where the LOD's are like turned off, i can see tiny daggers laying on the table while zoomed out near the cloth map limit.. If these tiny items you cant make out anyway were popped out at such extreme ranges, perhaps peoples preformance would be better?

Um, to the thread starter... I'm not trying to say im smarter than you or anything, but I had never played the betas, I just started up a non-campaign large map and dove in. Within 5min I was as comfortable as in Civ4 or Galciv2 or any other game. This game was never meant for soccer moms who doesnt even know what a 4x game is, and why would they need to explain where the end turn button is? There is only 1 button in the lower right corner of the screen, with a green icon on it, which

Runs bad on my 250GTS too, while games such as Anno 1404 runs silky smooth, looks insanely good, and have real-time ai-craziness going on with hundreds of citizens going about their daily business. I understand what they are trying to do with this engine though, basically limitless detail for when computers catch up, but it could sure use some optimization. For instance, is it really neccessary that i can see the tiny tiny daggers laying on the table in the Market improvement, while z
Worldly knowledge renamed to “Tech Knowledge” to be consistent with the manual. Sigh. The manual was the broken bit, prose-wise.
Well Tech is a much better word than "Worldly", in terms of ingame readability.
Elemental: War of Magic (PC) What Is It? Fantasy strategy game from the makers of Sins of a Solar Empire and Demigod , available today for download via Stardock’s Impulse store. Should You Care? Something to tide you over until Civ V hits next month.
lol? The game is so extremely similar to Galciv2, in so many ways (a good thing), yet they list Sins (which was made by Ironclad) and Demigod (which wasnt popu

What does the "Softness (Adv Lighting)" option do anyway? I've changed it from 0 to 50 to 100, no difference. I've started a new game after each setting and taken a print screen to compare the character, no difference. I've rebooted the game, no difference. [e digicons][/e] I could post the comparison screenies, but there'd be no point since there's no visible difference at all. hmmm
I just wanted to say that after stumbling accross EWOM I am extremely excited about the game, that, at last there is a nice fantasy/rpg/strat/turnbased/4x experience with good multiplayer support coming out. My favorite fantasy 4x game has been AOW:Shadow Magic, which I still consider one of the most technically perfected fantasy 4x's ever made and which this game seems very similar to (which is a great thing). Having read and watched a lot of the v

I LOVE spells that change terrain in these kinda games (Age of Wonders. Shadow Magic fan for life, best 4x fantasy game in the history of the world imo, and still unbeaten, and still visually beautiful). I mean, i really REALLY LOVE terrain change spells ;) *hint at what i want more of in future patches lol* I also love how theres more than just 1 unit per square, it looks cooler than i thought, with small armies rather than just 8 huge soldiers. Cant wait :) Time to play

Yeah its awful. Its the same as with AI War, Distant Worlds and frankly Galciv2 as well. Horrible trailers that completely fail to capture the magic of the specific game. You cant just add cinema-music to calm screenshot slideshows lol

Whats next, should we take Jim Sterling reviews seriously too? [e digicons]:|[/e] Personally i dont listen much to reviews, for two reasons. 1. I myself am the only one who knows what kinda games I like, and I loved every other Stardock game that Frogboy was involved in, this basically looks like Galciv in fantasyland, and I have every confidence that it will turn out great after a few patches because of previous Stardock games experience. 2. I was a naive noob a few years a
