I wonder if there's a lot of stuff that they haven't really talked about at all, or if we have a pretty good grasp of all the features already with the sneak peeks..

The most important thing you achieve when investing in solar panels is increasing the demand for solar power, motivating further research. It's a good deed you did.
I strongly suggest putting it into Beta 1 unless you want the pushback from people who haven't followed these forums and wonder why it isn't there after a year and a half since WoM.
Yes. Yes. No, I buy games because they are good, not because they are 64bit aware.
I don't know if I like the raise / lower land spells too much. The visuals of the unnaturally raised mountains are pretty ugly and kind of lay waste to interesting aspects of a map. Are you completely sure that the land modifying spells are contributing to the game in a fun way?
Edited out.

The big pull of this game to me was the vast amount of technology you could research, the interesting base building system and the ingenious world map with cool fighter vs UFO battles. The tactical battles were almost secondary to me, only cool because you could get new stuff to research from them.
I have always liked the system where your area of influence had the advantage of blocking your opponent's movement. I agree with Thormodr 100%. I kind of expect this feature to be absent due to the AI not being able to handle it though. I just hope it doesn't lead to the scenario described above, where you're best off to have a row of peasants blocking the opponent's path.
There are no words to describe my disappointment if this is not in the game, after all this time. I have posted a similar wish at least four times at different phases of WoM. However, to the OP: It is most certainly *not* easy to implement this feature. Pathfinding is not a trivial task; if you try to calculate the absolute optimal path with brute force, the calculations will take forever. It's a complex optimization task to write an adequate pathfinding algorithm for a ga
Frogboy, I don't know if this is a case again of you being too close or if I've just gotten the wrong image from all the videos and information on FE, but to me FE doesn't seem *that* different in core gameplay terms to WoM. It still has the same kind of a stat system on units, same kind of a tactical battle system, same kind of a research system, same kind of a town building system, same kind of quest system and same winning conditions. So, my hunch is that in truth, the
The armies that have a lot of units in them look a bit funny on the strategic map.
I'd have to say the best game I've played in the last 10 years would have to be the night I got my woman
Cheap shot. My best games have unfortunately ended. Hopefully a classic is coming this decade.
A lot of classics came between 98 and 2000. X-Wing Alliance, Jagged Alliance 2, Unreal Tournament. Anno 1602 came out in 1998 too... As did Heroes III. Seems like all the staples of many series came before the last decade. Hell, even Diablo 2 came in 2000. I really have no idea which game would be the best of this decade. Most of my favourites came earlier.
I don't like the idea of dropping Elemental either. If the game gets universal acclaim, the 4X TBS target audience will surely try the game out. I'd rather expect it to gain *more* coverage due to it being part of the Elemental series, as WoM - even though a failure - got a lot of media coverage due to the disastrous launch.
MxM111, the way it works is that wherever you settle, your town gets a permanent food & material production bonus based on the 9 surrounding tiles. Different kind of tiles give different bonuses. Apparently rivers are especially good tiles. The properties you see on the tiles are the summed up bonus that you get if you settle on that tile. Apart from this base bonus, to our knowledge the different tiles do not yield any other specific bonuses (but buildings might require to be on
It's a sequel, plain and simple. There's no two ways to go about it really when you really look at the games.
In other words, Slicing gives direct money. You send your companions on Lockbox missions and they bring back more credits than you paid them. You don't have to sell anything, you don't get any extra items. You just gain credits straight up and don't have do anything else. Sometimes you get less credits than you paid for the mission, but on average you get a return rate of something like 1.3 I think. And the additional bonus are the lockboxes scattered around the planets th
Hell, if you play actively for a couple of months you can sell the account for profit if money's that important to you.
There's no point in trying to do everything in each planet though. There's so much to do in the later planets that you outlevel the planet really quickly. It might be more fun to come back and do a different set of quests with another character.
Just keep on Slicin' always when logged and you'll be okay.
Get rid of the Sir_ , but someone else has that username already which is why I have this.
This is kind of a non-issue for now as this is one of the things that can easily be balanced during beta or even after release. As champions are such an integral thing to FE, they will definitely undergo polishing and balancing after the beta starts. So I wouldn't be too worried. I suggest trying the game first and then start thinking about improvement ideas.
