Keep this updated please - its great :)

if the sovereign is going to be a super unit at the start (like Supreme Commander) then the game could turn out to be a game of chicken. How far are you willing to go at the start of the game to conquer with your sovereign until you need to protect him with more than a unit or two?
Looking at the Beta and the current state of the game, it should be pretty clear that feb 2010 would be premature. Let this cook until ready [e classic]:congrat:[/e]
hallelujah
I played a game today and approached an enemy border. I then got the "Do you want to start war" (or what the text is) window. I clicked Yes and just got the same window again. I clicked about 20 times and gave up. I then clicked no and the window went away. I tried again next round (to be sure it wasnt because of no more available movement). The same happened again. I then went along the border for a turn and tried again. Then everything worked fine.
How about a setting in the game where we can say how much waiting we accept and the game would compute AI accordingly. I would not mind waiting 20 seconds extra every turn if the AI is slightly better. A setting like this: AI compute time acceptable 1. Very quick - shallow algorithms 2. Normal - standard AI 3. Slow - the AI is alllowed extended calculations 4. Marathon - AI Extreme - Allow a minute extra pr turn
I addition to your fine idea, one could add upkeep not related to gold. You could have a dragon fighting for you with an upkeep of for example 10 resources a turn (gems or whatever). If you run out of this resource the dragon leaves. Imagine how interested you would be in getting your hands on that gem mine over there [e digicons]B)[/e]
Awesome suggestions there. I too hope to see this implemented. Did you happen to post that in the M2 forum at Paradox?
I am not registered on those forums, but I am reading them. I feel that the forum is flooded by unhappy players and suggestions. I dont really have any hopes for my points to be of much weight there.
Perhaps you could put [0.23 Bug] in the header so Its easier to spot for readers/devs
I had the same problem and I have reported it. I can imagine though that its not easy to find among all the bug reports here.
I totally agree, but we (hardcore gamers) are going in to extinction. All new games are made so that everyone can win while drinking beer and laughing with friends. Very few games are punishing you at all for bad choices. The games just say. "Please try again". When I play CIV IV, I set the game so that I rarely win. My few wins are just that much sweeter! Most of these problems are patchable so it could still theoretically be saved. What is needed: 1. Make som skirimish maps. Doesnt have to be a random map thing, but some maps where you can adjust a few settings and where the lairs and things are a bit randomized. 2. Improve Heroes AI 3. Make the monster mix better a while into the game so that there are still easy monsters for the low level heroes to level with. 4. See if there are ways to make b
This post by the frog would make me buy the game right now, if I hadnt already :)
I'm going to have to disagree - other games like Elemental may choose to have Cannon fodder, but in Elemental it's about being able to design the right unit for the right job. In Civ4, it's all about numbers - just pump out enough of your strongest unit and swarm your opponent. Seriously, even at the highest difficulty level, this tactic is flawless. I believe the idea is also to have sharing of other people's creations - so you can essentially just
On the one hand I would like to reward companies making traditional strategic games, on the other hand I play only single player and we got stuffed with no sandbox. I would only buy this if it got supreme reviews as long as there is no sandbox. No dice for me.
When I tried to start the game after installation it got stuck on startup screen. I left it for a long time and nothing happens. Ctr-Alt-Delete did nothing and I had to hardboot. I finally tried to open task manager first to see what it shows on startup. Then I discovered that Elemental was trying to access internett and was awaiting confirmation by ZoneAlarm. Task manager somehow seemed to avoid the problem where the startup screen would hold focus and Windows - D, Ctr-Alt-Del and Al
Can anyone answer this: How is the title screen supposed to work? Should we click esc, just wait a few secs or is there a skip button that some ppl dont see?
I loved the planets in Master of Orion II that were guarded by space monsters (cheese alert). With great rewards comes great battles :) I second this!
What the excecutives in their fancy suits dont understand is that the world is getting transparent. We as European customers are now fully aware of the world wide pricing of games due to Steam/Gamersgate/Impulse and they should no longer expect us to pay more than in the US. My motivation for paying for a game is significantly lowered by this practice. Often I buy games more or less to support a genre even if the game doesnt quite fit me. I have bought Gal Civ II and Sins without play
Look here for example: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=431901
I got the same as above
I had the same problem. Stuck at startup screen. Then I used Windows - D to get to desktop. When I clicked on Elemental again I was past the startup screen and ingame :)
got it
26th August order here - no email - going to bed in an hour, so I guess I have to wait a while.
I got the "delay in normal response time" a couple of weeks ago. Then my ticket was closed with no notice. I think Stardock is slipping slightly here. A couple of years ago I got super help from Stardock on payment problems on Gal Civ II, now I dont get anything. Their focus seem to shift to large companies with a US only policy. Elemental is the only thing still keeping me on Impulse.
