I got really courius about the SupCom 2 "problems". Could anyone sum it up, or do I have to spend an hour or two reading a rabid forum?

This does smell slightly of overcomplexification (is that a word?). If the 50 swordsmen are one group standing next to the draogon (like in Kings Bounty or Heroes of Might and Magic) then I believe that they should all get a swing at the dragon. When the dragon attacks though there is an intresting question (at least it is to me). Should we calculate damage and spread out on the swordsmen (so that 100 damage would kill 3 swordsmen with 30 health each), or should all the damage
Havnt tried Trine. A bit too "platformy" for me :) I also forgot Puzzle Quest. Great little filler. 8/10. I am mainly looking for two different kind of games 1. The more heavy ones within TBS Strategy (conquer the world/galaxy). Like CIV IV, Master of Orion and Master of Magic. 2. Fillers with some substance to them. Like Puzzle Quest and Lux Delux. I am not fond of shooters, platform games, sims and such.
And i forgot Depths of Peril. Bought it and played for a little while. Its very stressful with the fighting among the groups back "home" in the city and I want to build tings more at my own pace. My rating: 5/10
Hi I am at a constant lookout for good strategy games for PC. They are few and far between and my favorites are these: CIV IV, Master of Orion II, MOM, Heroes of Might and Magic, Kings Bounty and such. Since I find so few games I like/want I have started looking a little among more indie games /small developers/older games for some respite while waiting for Elemental or other good games (Kings Bounty Armored Princess). My findings so far: Armageddon Empires. Bo
Move to norway. :) Plenty of nudity in films, advertising and real life. No problem really.
Just remember to make it so moddable that there will be mods that will almost be stand alone games with different mechanics and rules from the original. This is an exciting journey - thats for sure. If this is a success then it will be a hit. If not, noone will try anything similar to this ever. May the RNG be with us on this one!
Found the list inside impulse :)
Is there a full fixlist? I cant seem to find it.
Aha, so when a warrior beats the cr*p out of a tank it's ok. You reload the game, and the same warrior gets killed by the tank easily. You reload again, and the warrior kills the tank again. So this system isn't primitive & dumbed down you say? It's an RNG based piece of cr*p to be honest. This is why we will need to have damage types in Elemental for example. I don't want to see a primitive system in this game. [IE: Having
We can only wait and click refresh in Impulse all day/night...

Quoting joasoze, reply 2You should not be worried about the game being like Civilization IV. CIV IV is one of the top games ever made It's a good game, but it has some serious problems, such as the primitive & simple combat system.
The combat is not the main part of CIV, but I disagree that its primitive and simple. There are lots of
You should not be worried about the game being like Civilization IV. CIV IV is one of the top games ever made, and if Elemental comes close to being at that level we should all rejoice. I even DEMAND that the expansion packs will be called: 1. Elemental: Warlords 2. Elemental: Beyond the Sword [e digicons][/e] Sorry about ruining your thread. Move on...
Plenty of good ideas here. Would be nice if a unit can have skills like: Enemy bonuses: Dragonslayer +5 attack against all dragons Racial bonuses: Dwarf +3 attack +3 defense in mountains Terrain bonuses: Swamp Creature +3 movement in swamp +5 attack in swamp Hunter: +3 attack agains all animals Giant slayer: +5 attack agains all giants +++++ you all know this drill Another thing that I would like in a game (but this might not be the righ

There have been several threads like this lately, but I can still recommend Kings Bounty :)
Or really, anything that brings the game closer to Master of Orion II.
You got that right. I rank MOO II on my top three list. 1. CIV IV 2. MOO II / Total Annihilation (shared second place - I just cant deciede)
But sometimes it's semi-legit where you have a 10% chance of loosing a really good hero, game altering choices could some protection against the crule taskmaster of the RNG.
Saving and reloading is "cheating" in my book. I dont mind that people do this in their own single player games. But I do mind that this should influence game mechanics. I would NEVER reload unless game crashes or a bug mess up something. If the hero dies he dies.
CIV IV if you havent tried it already. Kings Bounty is also GREAT
My suggestion would also open up for playing with different AI profiles
There should be an independent setting where you could allow for more AI computing. This should not interfere with the level you are playing (easy, normal, hard or whatever). The level should be influenced by how much handicap you have and how much exta stuff the AI gets. Example: A casual gamer would chose: 1. AI computing time: Standard 2. Difficulty level: Normal A hardcore gamer would choose: 1. AI computing time: Excessive (u
These items are hardly gamebreakers I would assume? Still its a bit tactless to do this. I would think that if you drop buying the game because of this, then you arent buying many games. There are far worse issues in gaming. Examples: 1. If I buy boxed version of Empire Total War I still need Steam for installation and verification (I dropped buying that one) 2. Most of the games that interests me on Impulse or Gamersgate are region restricted. UK only, North Am
I still think I'm failing to communicate. The problem with the internal beta is that you don't know what the economic system is. It simply says "takes 8 turns to build". That's it. Players need to know how the economy works in order to effectively debate changes to it. If you use population as a more limited resource it could stop ICS. Spread your people too fast and too thin and you can hardly build anything. Expand slower and build buildings that will attract people to your cities. Case solved :)
