I had Blood Bowl in my hands two days ago. Its actually lying at the bottom of a shelf in my local Gamestop shop. Yes they are even here in Norway. Didnt buy it as it was full price and the system requirements seemed a bit tough for my laptop (I am buying a desktop in the spring). It cost 399 NOK which is 70 USD (I am NOT kidding here).

I just don't have enough time to play all the games I want these days. It's ok so far but it definitely needs some tweaking to really shine. The camera control for the battles is atrocious and the UI needs a lot of functionality added to it. It also needs to be able to remember custom game settings which it curr

Carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant and has never been proven to cause climate change. Sure the northern polar ice caps are melting but the southern ones are getting larger. There are more polar bears now than there has ever been. The air over America is cleaner than it has ever been in the last 70 or 80 years. Yet all the screaming lefties are calling for the end

Buying structures could make hireing cheaper, make mercenaries come to you first and other effects.
Much to think about here. I like games within games (minigames). Like keeping people happy in CIV IV, improving the dragon in Kings Bounty. So kingdoms "fighting" (hirering among a limited common supply) over mercenaries could be good.

But there are some they don't like Fallout 3 and other Bethesda products and so this weekend I ended up going to Best Buy to get Fallout 3. Steam powered no buy for me then :(

Nice article, though my favorite one is the one you made on MOO II. You are right. MOO II is not yet surpassed. Not even by GalCiv II in my opinion (or Sins for that matter). My top list of games: 1. CIV IV 2. Shared second: MOO II and Total Annihilation (ouch my age is showing here)
In my own little browser game I am going for a base value pluse a random value. I think this makes for nice variation. An attack can have a base damage at 5 and then 1-5 random on top of that (random example here). There is one VERY important thing to remember. If you calculate damage for each unit in a battle then such calculations are problematic. Imagine 1000 swordsmen doing an attack at 3D6. 1D6 will give you on average 3.5. If you simulate 3D6 dice 1000 times then you wil

Puzzle Quest - Imagine me liking a puzzle game - must be a good one then Kings Bounty - Great and captivating game (also see the sequel Armoured Princess)
Kings Bounty Armoured Princess CIV IV (already suggested)
Thanks raven
You got some valid points there. I will replay (mage or paladin) on harder difficulty after I finish on normal (warrior). I dont mind reusing units and such. Yesterday I met (killed) some Shamans. I relived nightmares about those dancing axes. In Kings Bounty I used them a lot in my own army.
Sounds good. I have a daughter that is 4 years old and could supply some graphics here :) Enjoy your holidays!
