It seems that most strategy games being developed these days are failures due to low budget or too high complexity in the development phase. 1. Disciples III is getting negative reviews and is being patched like it was a beta (russian version) 2. King Arthur in strong need of a patch according to reviews. Great concept, but not not implemented well 3. Armada 2556 (or whatever the number) the MOO revival is the same. Half baked. All these games should have great

hmm.. not a single game on this list that would be on my list...
If you are looking for a game now I reccomend Kings Bounty Armored Princess. Regarding 2010: I am waiting for Supreme Commander 2 and Elemental. I am also getting more and more dissatisfied with mainstream strategy games. I dropped Empire Total War because of the Steam connection. Even if you buy the box you need Steam. Lovely consept :(
To increase the amount of information about the game I did an Armada 2526 First Impressions at SpaceSector.com: http://www.spacesector.com/blog/2009/12/armada-2526-new-4x-space-strategy-game-first-impressions/ Enjoy!
Thanks a lot from an old MOO II fan. Its on my maybe list ( I am hooked on Kings Bounty Armored Princess now).
1. Civ IV - best game ever 2. Kings Bounty Armored Princess 3. Fotball Manager series
I am still playing Kings Bounty Armoured Princess like crazy and cannot cheat on it with another game. Finally I have let CIV IV rest and found something new. I am very difficult to please and spend much dineros on games that I hardly play (Fantasy wars, Gal Civ II, Sins of a Solar Empire, Etherlords II and the list goes on and on).
I got a Tivoli Audio Model One table radio from work. Giving it on to my wifey as I cannot make myself listen to the radio and all the stupid songs/ppl there. And I got some cash that will go into my gaming-rig-fund (I am at $1000 now). Will buy sometime before Elemental is released. Could also be timed around Supreme Commander 2 :)
In Kings Bounty you stockpile (collect and get thru advancement of levels) mana, mind and might runes. Then you have to spend them and its very difficult to prioritize. I love such mechanizms
**Note for the Comprehensively Impaired: I'm not talking about spells with Obvious effects like "Sleep", "Slow" or "Haste". I'm talking about spells that deal Direct Damage.
Thank you for thinking of me :)
Here a game would cost about 399 NOK which is $68. A good reason for me to bitch about getting games on impulse and gamersgate so that I dont have to pay the extreme Norwegian prices (or just drop buying it really).
I would like som grand scale quests where you stop the incoming horde of darkspawn from the east, barbarians from the north or such. Someone come to you and ask for help. After a war in the northern mountains barbarians are swarming southwards for refuge. 1. Let them settle in a city in your area getting an possible ally/competitor 2. They must be put down (reward when they are all removed) 3. Do nothing (the barbarians will be normal wild units) I woul
I have mentioned this before, but would like to repeat it. I am very attracted to the idea that the "barbarians" would settle and create a civilization in a part of the map that players/AI has neglected.
The translation argument is rather weak. Lots of countries buys games in English and arnt used to translations. Like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Holland, parts of Eastern Europe, large parts of Asia ++. Just give us the original versions please.
By that argument American Idol and So you think you can dance is the best the world has given us :)

One hour into that one I was pleading for my friend next to me to kill me and end my sufferings. We could not leave since he had his girlfriend with him. Truly horrible...
Even the old x-com is not available in my territory. on impulse How lame is that....
of course by the time that everyone is over to 64 bit computing then 128 bit will come around...
Thats called progress :)
And keep a focus on having as many world wide releases as possible please :) I know its not Stardock`s desicion but the game publishers, but Stardock can put pressure on them.
I feel that the whole film is given away by the trailers and commercials. Humans come to planet, resource they want is below a town, bad representative for "the company/government" starts war, some soldiers see an moral issue and eventually side with the weaker part and finally war ensues. Did I miss anything?
Anyone remember Legend of Faergheil (or something like that). Ancient roleplaying game on my Amiga. If you walked too fast outside and hit a tree, then you got injured :)

The games atmosphere, music and creativity makes this something everyone should play. Star Control 2 (Or in your case go for the fan made remake "The Ur Quan Masters". Imo totally wins the "o

Stronghold-I loved this game back in the day, and if you have a thing for castles and medieval stuff, you'll probably like it. It's fun, it's got a nice art style, and it's pretty easy to pick up. Avoid Stronghold 2 by all means. Supreme Commander-This is essentially the ultimate strategical game, at least that I have seen (a
I made a post like this a while ago when I was Jonesing for a strategy fix. The game I ended up with was "Knights of honor" a great blend of rts and turn based strategy. Graphics are definately dated, but I ended up putting a ton of play time into the game. Problem in the end is that the AI is too weak once you get good at the game.
I have Knights of Honor and played it for a while. I loved it for a week or two, but stopped playi
To me it sounds like Race customisation for Master of Orion II, and since I love that game I am all in :)
Thank you for interesting links.
