I absolutely HATE a finite number of turns for the attacker. IMO, Elven Legacy is an OK game when it could have been a GREAT game had it not been for the timed battles. The attacker should be allowed to retreat ( at least part of the time). They should pay for it but allow the retreat to happen. I am not getting an error or CTD but I can not see the faction leader or maps. I just see a blank screen with some artifact (I do see all the other graphic elements). I have updated my drivers for my Invidia 6800 card but I have not seen any improvement. Without an error, what do I need to provide to fix. The beta is unplayable for me at the moment as a result.

Pardon any spelling errors here but as stated above, the game is not playable for me right at practically start up. I have not been able to oplay for the last two builds now due to this and figured I would just wait it out since i am not a full time player and was sure it would be found by someone else (fixed)...some beta tester I am. That's not the case though so i thought i would post. I can not find the error log so any direction on what is needed from me would be great.<

I agree. This series is excellant. I just finished the 3rd book and moving on the fourth. I can't put them down. Depending on the modding capabilties of this game, I will probably try doing something like this if for nothing else but my own gaming pleasure.

Anything dealing with LOTR. I want that big epic battle experience but nothing has met my expectations.

Has anyone noticed that Stardock is taking over the world? I mean we have all the public discussions regarding DRM by Brad, a quickly growing list of must have PC utilities like Window Blinds, Fences, etc., an ever expanding list of games now touching almost every genre and even including US politics and campaign strategy, the gamers bill of rights, Impulse and now expanded studios!!!! Is there no stopping them????

Just when I was getting ready to purchase a new shiny family PC (HP Touchsmart) a new OS is coming AND it supposedly has better touchscreen functionality. I gues I will wait rather than having to "upgrade" the OS. unless of course it is really 2010 or so...Don't want to wait that long

I took some time to review all the games on Impulse and wanted to see if there were any obscure games (to me anyway) that looked interesting. I found: Mosby's Confederacy World of Goo Space Force Captains Styrateg Sword of Stars (not really obscure but I have not played it yet). Any feed back on these games?

You make a great point. The TV feature is for my wife while cooking, etc. but the PC feature is so my kids are on the computer in a central, public place in our home. I hate the idea of having the PC located in some out of the way and obscure location. I would definately want to power it down or put in sleep mode while we are eating, talking etc.

It's all in the quality of the set. I have a small 19 inch LCD from Samsungin the kitchen for $220 and it is OK but certainly not HD as advertised. I also have a 37 inch Sharp Aquas ($1300)and EVERY picture is beautiful HD signal or not with no blur, ghosting etc.

Don't forget the mounts also. Where would you assign a unit a horse, etc thus creating a mounted unit?
