I agree. The game is not inexpensive and should be more "polished" than it is. I get the distinct feeling that the last few days have been "oh S***" days for the devs trying to patch etc. I like Stardock, although less than in past years, and will continue to support them and hope the game turns into what it was billed to be but for now...it's not worth the purchase price. Apologies aside...this poor release and comments made by Brad could very well turn ou

After playing some tactical battles I find myself wishing I could place my troops on the tactical map before the battle starts. As it is, it feels like my "army" or "troop" is just set up randomly. Perhaps balancing would be an issue since the AI would not place armies that intelligently I guess but it is something I wish I could do.

Rune...no not really...according to the documented specs...it qualifies...that is my point...it will run it in map mode BUT nothing specifies that the minimum specs will only run the cloth map mode. I think that is worth mentioning.

I feel your pain. I actually sent a private message to Frogboy about my same issue and that I really could not run the game after the 2nd build of the game during the beta. This is not a dig against Frogboy at all as I believe he knows best about his game BUT there is some confusion on what can run this game. I have a Pentium 4 3ghz with 2gig ram and an nvidea 6800 video card. Not a huge machine and one that needs to be updated soon but it runs Empires, Sins, GC II and

Sorry to interrupt but really guys? People are arguing over the fact the beta can't be played 4 days before release? Is it really that big of a deal? Anyway, I am sure much of it is because you look forward to a great game so peace, love, joy and all that stuff!

Since I am in sales and not a code monkey like so many here seem to be (I wish I could code)...I am always looking for a way to cross market so I would splash up some of the lore or some sample chapters, etc from the book. so I can get my imagination "loading" with the game.

I am a bit concerned with the release for me. My system is not 64bit and not running a new ATI card but yet I am being told it is fixed. I guess we will see.

Yeah I am sure they are busy but an update would be nice. At the moment we are looking at a huge bug for the people that have it. Unfortunately it seems to be working properly for the majority of users. Based on that, I am not getting any real warm and fuzzies but then again I have yet to be able to run the game from the very beginning so I may just be bitter. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]

just fyi that when i turned off auto turns, the memory usage slowed but continued to increase until it locked up again. To be honest with you, the memory stopped climbing when ever i did not have any players selected. As soon as I clicked on my sovereign, the memory started climbing again. I will try again to make sure i am not imagining anything or it was some fluke but thought i would mention it. no, nothing to do with clicking on the player BUT the

OK, played a new game. the game started at 191k. As i set the game up, built the word and started to play, it steadily climbed by 30 to 70k every second. by the time it got to 465,284k it pretty much just stopped working. I have posted the debug file. It has a lot of entries of a leaked scene node. Note sure if any of this helps. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3289339/debug2.err <
So far, has anyone who has run into this NOT been running 64-bit Windows? Every debug.err seems to be Windows 64. Now, I run 64-bit Windows and I don't run into it but I have yet to look at a debug.err that isn't 64-bit Windows.
I am running xp in 32. I posted my debug yesterday but here it is again with my prefs list http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3289339/debug.err &nb
If I had to name two things I would do differently I would have made stability and performance as two things we would have addressed earlier.
Yeah this would have been nice. I never really got to participate since I simply could not run the game BUT I look forward to all the fun and possibilities for the future. Looking forward to the latest release. It sounds like it will be great!
