ah hell. I could wait 5 years for FE now IF we could just build some of those new beautiful maps while waiting.

I have been reading all these posts for weeks now and finally played the demo. My video card sucks so I had to play on low video settings and still enjoyed the demo. I am off to upgrade to a modest card (Radeon HD 6850) that includes a free copy of the game from Newegg for $164. Looking forward to all the pretty battles.:)
I love the book series and look forward to the HBO series as well. Problem is I dont have HBO. I may get HBO just so I can see this series starting April 17th. I wonder if HULU or Netflix will carry it sortly after?
monster contest....anyone? anyone?
that had to be a joke...surely he was not serious.
Frogboy, I really think you need to look at the ambient noise generated from the map as well as bringing the actual map to life. At present the sound is really weak
I agree with this as well
I enjoyed this article. I have been trying to decide between a new imac or PC and recently decided that the imac is for me (well really the family machine since I still game on a PC). This makes me think then...is Windows office for the mac the best route to go since it is Windows software on Apple hardware. I have not pulled thr trigger yet but almost there....
I got several things but the two gifts I like most are: 1. the book Valley Forge by Newt Gingrich and William Firstchen 2. an xbox Kinect which BTW is absolutely kick butt...even if the games are a bit wanting Oh, and also a copy of Fallout 3.
I like Slitherine games myself. The Field of Glory series is great (although can get expensive with all the army packs/modules). This next year promises to be a good one as they add to that series.
I was not planning on getting a new PC until the old one died abruptly so I just picked this card up for $34 bucks so I could get the maching back up and running. I have all the setting in Empire set to Medium and it runs fine enough. I still can't figure out why Steam will not update it to 1.6 though. Anyway, I will probably run it as is for awhile and then get a better card later...of course then I have to worry about the power supply, etc so we'll see. Hey, atleast
Yeah, I think I will get a better card. dumb question but I wonder if I can keep this card in the box and then add a 2nd beefier card and have the two run in a series together to boost the processing power that much more?
yeah..typed too fast and did not read what I had posted. 4g ram and NVIDIA. Anway, funny remarks aside, I am still surprised about the choppy response. I will say that the card has 1g of onboard memory rather than 512 as some have. In any event, will hopefully find a setting combo that will at least make the game worth my time.
My old P4 PC crashed so keeping to a budget I upgraded the components. Nothing flashy but better. AMD dual core 3.2 ghz, 4 megs RAM, TB of storage and an Invidea 8400 video card. Wouldn't you know that the damn game still runs choppy even at low settings. That should not be. I checked the version and am running one version behind the most current 1.06 patch but steam will not update the stupid game. I have no idea how to make it load the patch. Very f
Would of thought it would of been on a electronic handheld device or something similar. Lots of board games are. Nice box cover.
Wish I could. All dice with a set of rules. I am being tasked to kind of create the look and feel of the game. Cover art is the first step. I am working on a medieval game cover now.
A unique unit needs to have an observable difference (as to/vs any other unit) in the game beyond just a jpg "image," because otherwise what's the point?
I understand the point I guess but then again with this logic, we might as well have just stickmen duking it out. I think there is some value to cosmetic differences if for no other reason but for immersion into the games"word".
I have been following Elemental since the beginning. I even took part in the Beta for a short time when it became obviouse that my old Dell P4 machine was going to have a problem running the game well. So, I have been waiting for patches and tweaks that would make the game more playable for my machine and they have been getting better. I decided to hold off even further until 1.1 and then hopefully talk my wife into agreeing that we need a new computer. I could not mak
When you buy a Stardock game, you're not buying a disposable commodity. It's something that we hope people will want to play for years and years to come.
Hmmm, more marketing verbage...what is his evil plan now? Why do I feel compelled to demand my money back now only to purchase TWO additional licenses? no, no...I really just want to autodraft my paycheck to the Stardock business account. Yes Frogboy, we will comply. :) Seriously
Ah, the evil marketing plan worked. issue 75% refund and then make the game better incouraging re-purchases = an additional 25% profit. Simply brilliant!!! :) Just kidding of course. Welcome back!
I predict that in its lifetime, the Kinect will sell enough to break even on the ridiculous amout of money MS is spending to market the thing, but little more. Within a year of release we will see a price drop. But that's just my guess
Will also be interested in seeing the success and/or failure of the Sony Move. Same price point and same assumed limitations/benefits with an added "silly looking" factor.
I don't know why you bring up Wii Fit. It isn't required for most games and most of the commonly perceived best games on the Wii don't even use it. If the Kinect was priced closer to $75, it would probably sell like crazy. But $150 for something that does pretty much the same stuff as what you already have is too much.
I use that as an illustration of one of the several additional peripherals needed to enhance th
We already know what it can and can't do, because MS has told us. It has problems handling players who are sitting down.
This is an incorrect statement. We have the initial release but it has great potential for future application in the future...kind of like Elemental. It is also falsely reported that it has issues whith the player sitting down. I do not have the article with me at the moment but can provide the reference (when I get back in town to d

I personally think the problem is not in the quality of the code (in most cases) but rather the huge variances in hardware that simply did not exist 10 or 15 years ago.
