Screen flickers and game stops at sovereign selection

Pardon any spelling errors here but as stated above, the game is not playable for me right at practically start up. I have not been able to oplay for the last two builds now due to this and figured I would just wait it out since i am not a full time player and was sure it would be found by someone else (fixed)...some beta tester I am. That's not the case though so i thought i would post. I can not find the error log so any direction on what is needed from me would be great.

what I do know:

build beta 1Z

running Windows XP with service pack 3

Pentium 4 3 ghz

2 Gig Ram

Nvidia GeForce 6800 (not sure of drivers)
