I'm not sure if it's related. My mouse is a Logitech Performance MX. By pressing a mechanical button, the wheel can be switched to smooth scrolling, but I leave it in the normal click-stepped mode. It's always worked fine with the standard Windows 7 drivers that Windows selects for it; I don't bother with the annoying Logitech SetPoint software.

Sorry, I didn't think to save it. If I see it again, I'll make a save.

It may seem cool when its just the sovereign to arrange conjugal visits for; but imagine arranging nooky time when your dynasty is 8 generations deep.
My thoughts exactly. Let's leave the arrangements to the imagination. Arranging conjugal visits is a part of empire management I'm glad to have glossed over. Link to previous thread
UI isn't a "bug". We'll keep enhancing it between now, release and beyond. I wouldn't worry too much on UI. It's a high priority here and we're pretty unhappy with it.
Thanks for the reassurance!
I gather the sovereign designer was hashed out in beta 1, but I missed that one and want to point out some problems and make some suggestions: Gameplay: Lady Procipinee has "Ruin" for one of her circles of magic. Why is "Ruin" not available through the sovereign designer? Nearly every talent costs 10 points and every weakness gives 10 points. How about some minor talents/flaws that cost/give less points and have smaller or more situa
Normally the zoom in and out works fine and very smoothly for me, but occasionally while zooming in, it stutters and then super-zooms in to max zoom-in level on some random part of the map. On zoom-out, I've occasionally seen something similar where it stutters for a second as I'm zooming out, and suddenly I'm at maximum zoom out. It's pretty disconcerting, especially on the zoom in as you end up staring at a smalle empty patch of dirt and lose where you were trying to go.
Depends on the bug. If its' a cosmetic bug, then it won't get fixed until the public beta phase is over. If it's a crash bug, it'll get fixed during the public beta. If it's a performance/memory issue, it'll improve during the course of the beta.
What about user interface issues? Please don't "save" these to be fixed after the beta ends! The UI changes may not addr
I believe that the ability to load or restart a game after a game is already loaded has been disabled for the beta. The full game will have this. I assume it's because there's a bug there that remains to be fixed, and not just because they don't want beta testers to be able to do that. It is a pain, though. so I'm really hoping that beta 3 will enable this functionality.
I ordered a pioneer in my city to move to a very distant resource on the map. A few turns later, I noted it was near a mountain range. Quite a few turns later I discovered that the pioneer was just sitting at that spot, not moving at all. It seems to have "given up" on getting to the location and just stopped moving. This isn't good: It wasn't *that* tricky a path to get from the city to the sport I clicked on - another pioneer got from
Is there any reason for inns to stick around once the quest they offer is complete? I find myself wasting time sending heroes to inns with no quest because I forgot I already did it (or maybe the AI did - does the AI do quests?). In any case, some suggestions: make the inn disappear once its quest is done, like most of the quest target buildings do. Indicate the inn quest availability in the information box when you mouseover the inn on the map. It
No matter what seeting I pick for the "Amount of graoundcover" slider, everything looks the same. I presume this is supposed to effect how the terrain looks in the 3D map, but there is no difference between my choosing "none", choosing "overgrown (10x)" or anything in between. It all looks like it normally does (which I presume was "normal" setting, which is what I've left it on in the past). I haven't played with this option before the current beta, so I can't say if it w
The DX Error: Invalid call problem has returned, when Alt-tabbing. It's not consistently broken for me, and it seems like if I alt tab out and then immediately go back into the game, I'm fine. But if I spend more time outside the game, like to post a message here, I'll get the error when I try to go back in. Even then, it doesn't always happen. But I didn't see this sort of thing at all in .803.
Besides looking nice, is there any benefit to the prettification spells "Summon Flowers", "Beautify Land", "Summon Meadow"? Or the "Summon Mushrooms" spell? Or are they purely decorative?
I think Essence needs work as well. I posted a lengthy suggestion in another magic-related thread: [.804][Feedback]Brutally Honest Feedback: Magic and beta 2b I really like your idea for the familiar - something like that might make it worth the Essence cost. As it is, sumnons costing Essence are a huge waste.
During the wild goose chase quest, every time my sovereign entered one of the witches' huts, she disappeared. I could still move her, but the icon was invisible. This has happened to me several times in Beta 2B, but wasn't a problem in past betas. Saving the game, exiting, and then reloading fixes the problem (until you enter the next hut).
It appears that some terrains cost more to move through than others do. That's fine, but the player needs some way to know what the cost is for a square before moving into it. Right now, it's too easy to get caught near to a wandering creature you think you can move past, because the terrain cost you some movement. My preferred answer would be to have a small bit of text in the HUD descibing the name of the terrain type and its movement cost for whatever square your mouse
I agree - I thought "Spell points" was my mana and wa squite surprised when I figured out it was tied to Essence instead. My suggestion - just call them what they are: "Spell Research Points".
I agree also, and have some suggestions about handling Essence: I agree with Hound that paying Essence for beneficial things is a core concept, but it seems to me that for all the things it is used/required for, and for the cost of those things, that the existing mechanism to get more Essence is insufficient. You pay it to create cities, you pay it if you die, you pay if for some beneficial spells, it sets you mana limit. Heck, there's even that Strange Noises quest&
Sleave is a word, but means something different than the part of a shirt your arm goes in.
Yeah, this quest is a bit borked right now: The introductory quest text screen has a no/yes option at the bottom with no indication of what you're answering. I presume it's whether to accept the quest, but that's not really clear at all. The game crashed to desktop on me the first time I entered the Demon's Tomb . (On reload, it did not crash). Is Eldorad correct that you're supposed to be
Ugh. Good Riddance. The constant need to build more and more "happy-buildings" which have less and less effect of appeasing the whiny populace is my least favorite part of Gal Civ, Civilization, etc. Having planets go from happy to rioting because the population crossed some arbitrary threshold drove me crazy in GC2 - researching the next tier food tech could send half your planets into riots! I'm OK in general with t he idea of influece conversion of cities -
It seems to happen every time... and by "are you sure you've gotten Beta 2A properly installed" I'm not sure what you mean - I ran the upgrade via impulse without any complaints and it says it's on .803 - is there something else I need to do?
That's all I meant, I don't know of any other steps. I do occasionally get a very similar form of graphical corruption as your picture, but it isn't tied to Alt-tabbi
@Labtec_au - eteq shouldn't need to. The problem is supposed to be fixed, the fullscreen-off option was just a workaround. @eteq - For me, alt-tab works from full screen mode in Beta 2A. A few questions: Does it always give you the error, every time? Are you sure you've gotten Beta 2A properly installed?
Yes, this has been noted before. By connecting the threads, maybe this will help them keep track of how many people are asking for the fix... [BETA 2][Bug/Gameplay]Heroes killed without any notice [beta2][UI] No Notice when your units/NPCs are killed off screen?
