Here is an excellent game to check out made by Longbow Games . Interestingly enough now on sale on Impulse. (in some ways, wish I had waited to purchase here) [e digicons];)[/e] I really like the zoom from map with toy-like

Sounds like a successful week for you and the team Frogboy, good work! [e digicons][/e] Look forward to seeing more. *** Re: iPad I am thinking of the iPad for my wife, fortunately (so far) she does not get into the Facebook-type games. It would be helpful for her writing and all. Now if Stardock got into some iPad and blackberry/cellphone games, that would be cool. And indeed continue to make awesome PC games. I don't really have any issue with STEAM to get to the games that I bought from them. Never was on the 'hate' bandwagon but am glad to hear they are not as intrusive and hard-liners as in the past.
The Tactical Battles of the game is one of the HUGEST ASPECTS of this game, period. It's in the title. People want to have a War with magic...and other types of units. If this system gets "gimped up", all the work that went into the other systems won't be worth as much to me.
Good call Raven X. That's the primary reason I am here and why i have pre-ordered. [e digicons]k1[/e] There are not many ol
I also completely understand why we haven't talked about Specifics in game-play. It's not there yet, which is true. With the updated and Much Faster production of the "Beta Steps" though do you Really think we'll have time to debate "This spell does too much damage, this spell costs too much" etc etc? I doubt it. i Highly Doubt it. Not to mention that these arguments can last for Months...even Years. It could go on Forever and the game would

Great ideas and thoughts so far on these subjects. My takes: Combat Speed : this is fine, maybe make it different from movement rate as the 2 could be not related. I see Conan having a super high combat speed allowing him to attack and defend a great deal. AOW-SM does this in a unique and good way (IMHO). every attack or riposte (for defenders) uses up a certain amount of your 'Combat moves'. The more combat moves you have the more attacks you can ma

I be liking the Fences (currently using the free version), and as part of Object desktop - sweet. My subscription lapsed and with the recent sale going on until your Yank holiday I may just renew! re: games, Total Annihilation is the best! [e digicons][/e] as far as RTS go. If you saw mine (i am @ work so cannot show you a shot, you would see: Darklands (now the grandaddy of of RPGs and realtime pausable combat) Elemental

The iPad would be something my wife would like - instant on for her email, social apps and internet access while in the living room etc. I can see that being a major draw point for people. If we had one, I may use it only to make sure it was functioning properly (hmm.. would I be the 'Maytag repair man' as it is so easy to use without issues?) for my wife to use. But I have a blackberry so am always connected right now anyway - which is too muc

Interesting discussion. Another idea to make city building a little more costly and stop the spam, perhaps you have to migrate some people from a current city (closest one) or use up a pioneer to build as well.
Our worry is that when users see beta 2, it'll be pretty obvious how much we've been holding back on. But we are convinced that had all the goodies been made in beta 1, we might have ended up with a much poorer game. The beta testers can hopefully attest to just how much the game has changed since October in terms of how it functions. One nice thing is that we didn't ditch previous ideas but rather added to them so that modders

Ahh well that being my birthday I will have to get it. [e digicons][/e] Having played the original so many years past, it will be interesting to try out. I look forward more to the mod work that will be done rather than online playing against insanely better opponents. My son is enjoying SC1 as well so network games with him will be fun.

Awesome work Wintersong. A great way to show everything we know about Elemental. I found quite a few interesting tidbits of info reading through! [e digicons]k1[/e] Also good to link to for those one may want to tempt a new game for. (or buy as a birthday present - which I am doing) [e digicons][/e]

I hope there will be options to build across the rivers. Especially once you have city-state size. Maybe a new unlock for technology - bridges and canals. Then you can expand across smaller size rivers. As well, I hope to see options where one can build underground - if there are multiple levels of terrain. Perhaps you can build tunnels (depending on underground (dirt or solid rock). .. and finally, having multi-level cities - akin to building near/around a plateau or mountain

No. The community will be able to set up their own servers and mod them as well. Players will not have to use our servers exclusively. Do we need an internet connection to play multiplayer if we're using a local LAN? A lot of my friends are still on dialup. You will need an Internet con
