I would assume there is a cost. A footsoldier with a Bronze I sword and wooden shield learns the happy news he is getting the Bronze sword II and the metal shield. Much superior to the old. They still have to be created. A weaponsmith and all would have the work to do. Even if you recylce the old weapons to be used as raw materials, there would be a cost. Maybe there could be a user config option to not upgrade units if you wish.
Two different buildings as the forts are not exactly the same. Nice to have a variety of roofs and more! [e digicons][/e] From what I recall of Fallen structures, they are decidedly different than Man's.
I will find it difficult to play at any level but this with screenshots like this! Granted moving big armies around and seeing the strategic level once you have an empire in full bloom will take the cloth map. But getting down to seeing the units in all their glory? The towns, the landmarks and more? [e digicons][/e]
The modular approach is best in my view. All types of buildings could be added and upgraded. just a few additions: Moat Bailey Square towers Round towers etc. Lots of interesting info <a title="Fortifications" href="http://en.wikipe
Awesome Thanks BoogieBac. Video of Elemtental would be best, but of anything you guys are working on rocks.
Too cool..
From a question I asked on twitter: TeamElemental @ Three_kings Our music (since PM2004) has been done by Mason Fisher...its rennisance meets fantasy meets classical. It's good stuff, IMHO :) <
Good info and tools. Thanks mate.
Awesome news regarding the book. Another pre-order option for me no problem. Burn baby..
Thanks for the peek FrogBoy! BTW, hope you had a good holiday.. The WORKSHOP option from the main screen looks tantalizing (amongst other things!) [e digicons]:D[/e]
I saw that too.. [e digicons]\o/[/e]
I don't think there will be micro-expansions for Elemental. We're more likely to follow the Galactic Civilizations path of things where each expansion acts as a chapter to the story and also adds a ton of new features and such.
Sounds good to me. More story and features! Hoody-hoo! Thanks FB. Now get back to fishn' and vacation with the family! Turn off the PC. Step back.. step baaack.. yes, now walk away.. just wa
I cross my fingers and pray that this does not mean that the vanilla game will be bland and that modders need to really work their magic in order to make the game interesting.
From what we have seen so far the game certainly does not look bland - although "one person's blandness is another's..". In any event, those that have pre-ordered can participate in the beta (and some the ALPHA even) and will be able to
Magic item creation: More details? Options to hire mercenaries? Heroes, non-standard units for your race? Recruitment sites and/or do some just appear at your cities looking for work? Morale? One of the interesting additions to Aow was if you had units of diverse outlooks together (ie. evil/good or light/dark) and how it affected them, possiblitiy of desertion, effected abilities etc. tactical battles: Morale? will units have a chanc
Cool. Just checking out the python site. Haven't done programming in years but this looks very interesting. Works on a mobile phone too, perhaps something Elemental can be done for a Palm PDA.. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
How does combat work right now? Like CIV? Yeah...it's instant and ugly (the UI is around 6 months old and hasen't been touched since). It'll be getting the most love over the course of the beta cycle.
Cool, about the same age as my 2nd son. [e digicons][/e] Great FAQ FrogBoy. some key information passed to us which is making this game look better and better (&am
Good ideas. Have a short campaign tutorial. But have key goals on the processes and more in it. Perhaps one for the Humans and one for the Fallen - if there are many differences between them and the ways they build, expand, research etc. Perhaps some interesting info and background relevant to the main campaign(s) could be in the tutorial (as another enticement to do it - at least once) [e digicons];)[/e]
Not sure I ever saw anything about this.. Is there going to be an underground? (ala Age of wonders)
No chance for me, sounds like it will be great, keep us updated! By the usual methods: twitter, Facebook, posts here, smoke signals..
Awesome news. Thanks for the update FB! Have a great time off (? - actually try and take some time off!). Too bad about the relocation, I know an artist who would be splendid for your company/ type of work. But not able to move. *writes the 2 key dates down in pencil in his blackberry* [e digicons];)[/e]
All this nippleation will hopefully NOT slow down the release of the game. [e digicons];P[/e] If there are none on your models and you want them (or if there are and you don't want them! ) - MOD it!
Cool. Thanks for the updates BoogieBac.

For a peek at the time and effort it takes to make a cloth map icon (time-lapse) check out the Elemental twitter: http://twitter.com/TeamElemental My wife is an artist, and I know it takes a LOT of work, but had not realized really the details until seeing this. Cool stuff! Keep the twitters coming - one of the main reasons I use it on my BB! [e digicons]|-)[/e]
