I agree on that. Also some love for the rejuve spells too. I found myself researching into spell levels 4, 5 and 6 and not finding anything. While I found a spell that can flat out damage something for 30 points! IMO you should have healing just as powerful as the damaging or almost par. But the OP makes a good point here and I agree.

They're still working on it. More or less. 1.1 was a major overhaul. You're asking for more gravy/sugar on top. It'll get there eventually.
I feel your pain. I too have a good top end system and the game plays like crap. Have to wait for it to unfreeze if it doesn't crash. It doesn't happen right away, but maybe 100+ turns in when the game starts getting good. Boo. [e digicons][/e]
So is there a way to change ini settings to stop this crap? Like disabling intro movies ? Unnecessary wait sucks, dood!
Are you sure you're playing 1.1? I've not seen any resource heavy maps unless they were custom.. A random game.. I don't see those kind of numbers. So, I'd have to disagree with the OP here. One grain of thought may be to make warfare take longer to research. I'm also disagreeing on the war staff. It's not given for free at the start of the game, you have to research several techs to get access. My take on resources is scarce (rare) an
I am thinking with my CIV hat this time. You know what happens if you get to mid- or end- game with no coal/oil/ aluminum? You're screwed! That's what. That's the importance of this thread. While I may not like 'changes' without knowing what changes are going to be necessarily, I'll admit it's needed. Back to Elemental, what if you get x shard and really wanted y type instead.. or no access to end game resources? Also
Last thing I knew Chris was working on big time was Alpha Protocol - which did not do so hot. But Fallout New Vegas seems to be doing better. I would also like to see a Stardock style sandbox RPG. Oblivion and Fable are the big names in that particular niche, but neither really strikes my fancy well - Oblivion mostly because the mechanics that have been driving the Bethesda games are pretty poor, and Fable because, well... it
interesting ideas. I'd like a hero editor to be made if modding is still going the route it is.. or if its all bundled in to one package, at least have that included with it. Getting tired of the same old boring folks with the same old boring clothes and lack of interesting abilities.
Congratulations Kael.
I don't pay much heed to reviews not in print. I read the Game Informer magazine from GameStop and 360 magazine. I only like a few genres anyway, RPG & TBS. I don't buy something with a low score 6 or below. Now when it comes to reading reviews from users about say buying Electronics(sites like newegg and amazon). I do take their advice.
EDIT: No need to guess anymore. Winner winner chicken dinner.
*Jaw Drop* OMG! So it is a useful spell after all..
There is nothing wrong with "city spam" per se. The problem with it is that right now, in 1.09, city spam is the most effective tactic for the game. City spam is caused by: 1. It costs basically nothing to found a city. 2. It is the most effective way to gain access to resources quickly. 3. It allows you to out train your oppponent. These are the 3 issues IMO that have to be addressed in v1.1.[
Any chance of some information on the first Expansion pack? I think I remember reading that Tactical Battles are getting an over-haul? I'd love to share those details but my PR minder would have me killed. Poor Steph, she's been a real hero these past few months. Imagine your job being keeping me out of trouble?
She's obviously not paid enough for that impossible task. [e digicons]}
Civ 5 makes me want to gag. Firaxis has had its own share of Oh Noes! moments. Like making the mod browser only look at your C: drive. for one. Steam- only is kind of BS to me when Civ 4 sells on Impulse. [e digicons]:D[/e] Plus it's crap. No game I bought off Impulse loads up Impulse then loads your game. Losers. There's fairly good mods out there. I can't believe the number of balance mods. OMG. The map mods I
Love the ideas, going to use this mod. You're right. Should've been able to fish from the start. Another thing I think is unacceptable. Naval Warfare is zilch zero nada other than transports.
I want to put in my 2 gilders here first. I guess there's hope for you dev's yet. Finally seeing the light. At least you're seeing it. 2nd thing. About the whole beta schedule thing. IMO it was wrong from the beginning. Some of it is my fault for not bitching about it. The first beta or "Alpha" look yeah it was horrible. etc.. but when did we ever talk about how balancing buildings and empires. How the thing su
Yep that Dale fellow really made an awesome mod.
I've been looking at the CivFanatics forums and they're all up in arms over the DRM, as they should be. I hope enough consumers/potential buyers raise enough stink to get this crap off it. I WILL NOT HAVE CIV V on my machine if it forces me to have STEAM. Screw that, Screw them and Screw Steam. Anyways, have a nice day before my blood pressure goes up anymore.
My Sov and champions can't hit jack with a bow either.
Assuming it's not a large task, what do you put in there? Total Gildar, GPT, Total Mana and mana per turn, etc. Unit Stats when a unit is clicked on.. Yeah I know it's niche and you may tell me keep dreaming. But hey I'm a gamer and games utilizing the LCD is big factor in what I choose to play or keep playing.
Personally, I'm hoping someone does a Forgotten Realms. I'd support any D&D efforts.
Adds more spells and flavor to much needed magic. Not just a different flavor to do damage. But also does different things. Necromancy - Raise the Dead (skeletons, wights, wraiths, ghouls, spectres, vampires, etc.), Blights, poisons, create swampland, command dead (make target undead mob now work for you) Demonology/Unholy - Summon demons by sacrifice champions or children, do massive damage to other but take some in return. Command demons (much like command dead e
