You want to to know the competition? Why Elemental makes me cry ? Rise from Erebus mod for Civ4 (A mod started off of the FFH2 but much much more). http://greyfox.me/rife/ No I'm not on the design team, and no I get nothing out of it. However, I'm just pointing it out because the RifE mod sets the bar high. StarDock is actually paying employees (vs. a group of modders doing it for free)

Thanks Stardock team. I really admire the hard work and dedication.
We'll do better. Honestly, Frogboy, if you restructure the beta program slightly such that the last 1 (or 2, preferrably) months before launch is spent with the beta testers dealing with a full-featured build (all features and full content), this basically won't happen again. There problem with Elemental was that we the beta testers never got a build we could just hammer for gameplay, which is now the vast majority of compl
I am humbled. Perhaps you can tell me how one is supposed to increase prestige then? 1 prestige = 1 citizen growth per turn. pop level needed is 1250 = 1250 turns. [e digicons]:S[/e]
The horse is dead already. Stop beating on it. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. [e digicons]}:)[/e]
I've seen it happen. Given time as influence grows even more, you'll have a big box or circle around your cities. Right now they're just touching or crossing.
Love the Gold Box games. Also played WotL for many many hours. [e digicons]:D[/e] Even in WotL, even though some things were scripted, you could still FAIL to get allies. Allies hat were traditionally your allies even. I especially couldn't win it if the AI toasted the elves before I could get them allied. So yeah I'd be for making the Evil guys/ Takhisis' forces have an advantage at start. One that could diminish (due to othe
Wrong. Prestige is the thingy with the cup. So far only Palace and Pub increase those as the tooltips say. Both Town Hall and Embassy do not, but their tooltips say they should.
This sounds like an awesome concept for a mod. Ideas: Can't remember the old super nintendo title where it was an RPG and you were like the last ninja of this one clan. It has Oda Nobunaga making a deal with the devil to take over Japan. He ordered your village to be burned down and sent in a hit squad after. Anyways I'd vote for an evil Samurai Faction led by Oda and using Ronin and Ninjas too. R3K: I loved how the advisors
I want to say thanks. It's a great game and has potential to be super awesome for years to come.
Looks like has issues with Caravans and Sounds. Hope this helps. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10708974/debug.err
While you're looking at prestige, let's also mention the Sovereign's wife has (Royalty) and stationed there along with him. And yes, still +1 prestige.
In my game I had just built Town Hall in my first City and nowhere where I can see is my prestige anything other than the +1 its been at since it was built. So yeah either it's a bug or the town stats is bugged, where it shows food, gold, materials, population etc.. Inluding my save: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10708974/Faerun5.EleSav Note: Town where it was built is called WaterDeep.
Back in an early beta you could create your own race.. surprised that's not here now.
Yes. A lot of "Balance" or "UnBalance" people want can come from editing some XML files.
quoting postTime to redo the current schools of magic. I’ve got a revolutionary idea – let’s use the Shards to determine what magic you are able to research. In other words, if you want to research Fire Spells, you have to have a Fire Shard. If memory serves, that's pretty much what Stardock was aiming for at first except you needed a Shard not to research but to cast a spell of the corresponding school (remem

Karma for you. Gnilbert +1 And for the OP.
^^ This is awesome post/thread. Cookies for making it!
There's also some larger than large maps in the mods you can download.
I will state that in my game of normal, I found the AI to build up and take advantage of resources nearby it. Myself, I rushed pioneers out with a peasant guard to several good locations. Not only did I found cities early, but I was able to take advantage of at least 2 different resources by positioning my base city tile between and building out so the influence 'covers' them soon. I would also point out I used the largest or giant map from the mods section too. <
I also play Lotro so a mod like this is epic win. [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
I'm not the designer, but if completely redoing the way the game works get too hard. May consider implementing the pokemon as creatures and summon spells. Taking out many of the tactical spells and replacing it with summon . What you can learn/summon based off of what shards you have and control, etc. Also if you could implement that rock type pokemon have raise/lower terrain. etc. Flying pokemon let you use teleport.&n
Awesome ideas. As a D&D fan also, I totally support and look forward to this mod.
I like that swing faction idea. Ever play the old game, "War of the Lance" ? Reminds me of that kind of where the forces of good would want to ally with as many as they can (strength in numbers, disadvantaged at the start ). Forces of evil would want to crush or kill off any who will not join them. Increase their lead or make sure the good guys aren't getting stronger.
Whether its a mod now or add-on later from Stardock. Death and Necro magic is must have.
