While Dom 3 is hard to get into, the single-player does become very easy. The AI has certain quirks that rally hold it back. Multiplayer is great though. I rarely win, but playing against humans is just so much more rewarding. Keep up the good work.

Ah, the Persona games! I never get too far into them, but I keep buying new ones. There was just something to Persona 3's "shoot yourself in the head to summon guardian" mechanic I loved. Also, along the lines of my love for cheesy/campy dialogue and JRPGS, Disgaea is one of my favorite series. It just combines so many elements I appreciate. In addition to the above cheese factor, it's a tactical RPG, it's essentially endless, skills get better as you use them, and it's very, very ope
Now this is more like it! I suppose I should post a guilty pleasure since I have asked for yours. One of my guiltiest pleasures is in corny dialogue, such as in strangely translated JRPGs, and characters who regularly make stupid decisions, (happens a lot in survival/horror games).
... around this forum to bash other companies and their games. I'm not saying the comments are wrong, per se, and I have, myself, taken part, but the change in tone is a little distressing. We here in the PC Gaming forum seem to have adopted an attitude of cynicism and denigration. Worse, some of us are trading discussion and discourse for closed-minded fanboyism. It tends to have a polarizing effect on communities and, if we're being honest, it also gets really boring to read. So ins
Wait, there are people who liked Invisible War? Yeap, maybe just me..lol. Not having played the first I enjoyed Invisible War. I have it on the original Xbox and the game was a pretty good romp. I guess since peeps are so adamant about the first one I need to check it out sooner or later.
Just keep in mind that Deus Ex wasn't a terribly pretty game when it came out, and visually, it hasn't aged
Well, I played through the first one maybe 6 times (?) but only properly completed it 3 or 4 times. Some character builds just didn't do it for me :) As for Invisible War, I played through it once and a tiny bit through a second try. It just didn't hold my interest. I'm noticing more often now (and no doubt in part because others are pointing it out as well) that multi-platform and port titles have to make sacrifices that strictly PC titles don't need to consider, and primaril
While Bullet storm looks fun, I do worry about Deus Ex. I really enjoyed the first one, but the second left me disappointed. While both games had their share of glitches and issues, I found myself so immersed in the first game that I rarely noticed. The second game, by comparison felt a lot more like a generic shooter to me.

I think I preferred the basic tiles to the isometric ones.
Check out Blades of Avernum, then :) It's the remake of Blades of Exile they did a few years back. And thanks for posting this, I've been waiting for the Spidweb newsletter, but it tends to get send out well after this sort of info gets published to the site.
I hate Steam because of the DRM, but namely one aspect of it: if you're not connected to the internet, you can't play the games. That's BS. And then they gather statistics of how many people play their game & how often--there is no way you can do this and NOT gather private information. Besides the privacy issues, what do you think is the first thing I want to do if I'm not connected to the net/d
Deep scan and other techs, admittedly, make my poor cloaked ships drop a lot faster, but I stick with it. With the right fleet, you can still get a few bio-missiles to impact. As for plaques, I'm happppppy if I get assimilation. Who needs to glass a planet? Although, playing Liir in combat is a lot better now with a better keep at range order.
Tarkas.... faster than the Liir when fighting around a planet, weapon placement favors a stronger alpha-strike, better odds (as I recall) for ballistic techs.... I believe they also end up with the most efficient FTL, giving them greater range. Decent odds at armour techs place them between the Humans and Hivers for toughness. I could be wrong, though, I was more of a Liir player. All-in-all, the Tarka are the standard "generic" race. Humans, for once, aren't. Instead Humans have the
Make sure Fort Zombie is fully patched as well. I used to have constant slow-downs and crashes with it, but the last patch fixed it entirely for me.
I wont buy this game for the same reason I didn't buy their last series: I'm a scared little skirt when it comes to games. Horror movies? Love them. Horror fiction? Awesome. Horror games? I literally have to have my wife sitting beside me watching me play in order to do it. The only exception seems to be L4D, which I expect is a combination of many factors such as the bite-sized play times, the rampant humor, and the fact that I'm playing with other people. Oh, and Doom 3. I j
I'd love to get EFS working on windows 7 :( Good luck with your work, and keep us updated.

It went downhill from there, as the AI got dumber.)
Glad I'm not alone there. I was happy with the second Medieval, but in my opinion Rome remains the very best of them.
Looks like a less-expensive game along the lines of Laser Squad Nemesis, but with some interesting twists. A pity LSN required a subscription, it would have been a fantastic game otherwise.
I can't speak for everyone, but I certainly didn't get a friend invite.
why not make a virtual with windows 95 and see what it does?
It's likely that wont help, as the "hardware" being used by the virtual machine when running an older OS often isn't up to the task of running games, even older ones. One of my old games, Warlords III (1998), can't run on XP or later, so I tried using a virtual machine of windows 95 and 98 to run Warlords III, and it ran into a whole NEW slew of issues due
If it's the same group, than that's not so bad. But those units are more than just inspired by WC3 ;)
Your best bet is Amazon or Ebay. I picked up 2 extra copies a couple years ago for LAN games through amazon for about $10 each.
I was in the same boat as FutileEmotion. So I preordered this morning and received a key this evening. I've played 3 matches so far in the noob area and have been completely destroyed in 2 of those. In the third my opponent timed out, but when I checked out his base after, it looks like he was going to thrash me anyway!
Gamestop and EBGames are now giving away SC2 beta keys with SC2 pre-orders. If you've been trying to get one without luck so far, and are planning on getting the game anyway, this looks to be your best bet.
Awesome is subjective, I think. I have some issues with King Arthur. I like the fantasy and minor RPG elements melded with largely Total War game-play. However, I'm not a big fan of just how exceedingly scripted the game is. Sure, you can go against the scripting, but that generally gets you killed in short order. Additionally, the combat aspect of the game leaves something to be desired. Placing your troops into formations isn't as intuitive as it could be, as we can see from any TW
One look at their main page has scared me off. Some evolution-endowed instinct has me automatically cringing when I see a game so clearly, and shamelessly, ripping off another... The colour scheme and website theme look like they were freshly ripped from Blizzard, and the heroes... well, ditto on that point.
Wow, I hadn't even clued in to the DRM. Though this has been my first purchase through Battlefront since.. CB:BtB... well, in a very long time. Oh well, better guard this last activation well.
