the impression I got was that Gamestop vastly offered more for Impulse than any other buyer- Brad was going to sell period at that point, and he didn't know how bad Gamestop was.
Brad has never struck me as idiotic or incompetent, and he would have to be both to not realize how bad Gamestop (and it's affiliated companies) was.
I'm having some serious issues keeping my melee units alive. They can go in at full health, attack, then get counter-attacked. Then when it's the enemy turn they just kill my wounded melee unit. It's even worse for heroes that I just can't make work in melee so far. Maybe I should have upgraded defense more...
Your best bet is either to soften units up before you hit them with melee,
i only played a couple hours but the feeling is great atm its just... MOM they didnt even think much about changing it, its all mom everywhere, even the name of the buildings... and it works... it was just remodernized but the essence is all there, and the gameplay is really enjoyable, sieges are great, i mean they really feel like sieges, being inside a town feel like you are well defended a
Anno was exactly what I thought when I saw this.
I am a little worried by the new class system, rather than the old race/magic path system. But they are allowing every race to use every class, which could be quite interesting. Also of note is that they are bringing back the old AoW 1 hero leveling system, which has the potential to be awesome.
Hit Level 14 (the max for beta) after a few hours. It's a fairly well polished game. If you like console shooters like Halo or COD you will like Titanfall. Unlockable weapons/attachments/etc, though only a few dozen.
Humans in Sword of the Stars, as well. In fact, it's a fairly common convention.
In response to Timm's "Over the years i realized i usually tend to pick the alternative to the main faction of the game. If there are more than 2 factions (usually 3 or 4), i tend to go for the third or the last one. It largely depends on their characteristics, but these factions seem to be universally the ones, i find for some reason compelling - these factions tend to focus more on a finesse, high-tech or unique stuff, rather than brute-force or some standard generic units, and
I'd take a perpetual stun lock over having a mind-controlled, fully upgraded assault trooper with limitless free reaction shots situated in the middle of my troops. No joke, she managed to put more troopers into recovery time than the aliens of the last 4 missions combined. The way I had my troops deployed was part of the issue, but knowing the room contained a sectopod, his drones, and at least three other enemies, bunching my troops up to maximize the damage they would do when I breache
I've yet to use Mimetic or ghost armour. I place electric skin on my my assaults for a little passive scouting, the legs that allow jumping and the eyes that increase the height advantage on my snipers, and Neural Damps across the board. I don't find Sectopods much of a challenge. I can often catch two of them (and their drones) within the radius of a single EMP, which shuts them down completely. MECs, in general, are a little over-powered, especially in regards

Anyone else finding it a lot easier than EU?
Oddly enough, I'm finding Enemy Within easier. By a fairly large margin. I'm loving the new maps--It's great to have a UFO crash somewhere OTHER than the middle of a rather bland forest.
Less than two days in, and it's nearly funded. Looks interesting.
I would guess there is no reason to get 3 if you are getting 4. 4 doesn't seem drastically different from 3 anyway, just improves on it, there wasn't much to love about 3 anyway that shouldn't also be present in 4. Though I'm not bothering with 4 for the time being. From what I can tell the mirco and UI are still below my standards.
It's sti
RavenX posted a list of indie games a while ago, and I thought I'd post a list of some lesser known indie gems myself. 7 Days to Die This is a voxel survival sandbox best described, I think, as a mashup of DayZ and Minecraft with a dose of the tower-defence genre. During the day, you explore, scavenge ruined buildings for food and water, and collect the wood and other materials needed to craft weapons and traps, and to build a shelter, much like you would
Crazy, also: AWESOME. Additionally: good eye, Cauldyth. Thanks!
You're expecting people to give you a specific answer to an essentially unanswerable question. You can't pin down all of a country under a single label, feeling, or state of affairs. I mean no offence to the people posting, but none of them will be able to give you, one way or another, a correct, useful, or verifiable answer, because there isn't one. We can offer all the anecdotal evidence we want without ever being able to shed real light on the subject. Some people like challeng
I have to disagree when it comes to Gnomoria. While it's trying to translate the Dwarf Fortress experience to a wider, more casual audience, it fails much like The Town failed. Isometric graphics don't make up for an interface somehow clunkier than that of DF. And, when it comes to Dwarf Fortress, you do have a number of graphic packs, most of which are quite good, and some of which are downright charming. The rest of the list seems pretty good to me. Starbound would be imposs
It's tough. I almost always go wizard first because I've found a wizard, focusing on Necromancy spells, just steamrolls anything. But a good enemy scout is the exception. As a wizard, I'd try to hit him with as many higher level summons as you can before he takes you out. Yes, your hero would go down, but you should (hopefully) take him and his army out. For every shot he's firing at you, you're getting a couple free melee attacks on him. Alternately, you could try
This isn't a signup for beta. And it's shameful to mislead people into believing it is. The link provided is to your run of the mill viral marketing referral scheme. The more people who click his personalized link and subsequently sign up, the more bonuses and rewards the OP gets. The only link this program has to the beta is that the first 10 people to get 100 people to sign up in their name will get beta access.<
I agree, especially in light of those allies, or even just neutral factions, sending you messages that beg for help against a conquering enemy. That the only option to secure peace is to declare war and utterly destroy that enemy seems overly limited.
I was being daft. The issue was a complete non-issue. Please delete :)
Just a head's up that Dominions 3 is on sale over at Gamersgate for 75% off. It's not often that Dom3 is on sale, and even then it's usually only a few bucks, so now would be a great time to pick it up :)
Happy holidays everyone! Hope things went well! I've come bearing a New Year's gift. And it's this: Don't play The War Z. Don't think about The War Z. Don't, even if you haven't yet, even look it up. And don't, by the gods, buy The War Z. I know advice is a shitty gift, worse than the scratchiest wool socks. But you'll thank me. It's possibly one of the worst games I've played in
