So I'm on turn 191 in a game that has Epic pace. In other words, unless something is very very wrong, nobody is very advanced yet. Sure enough though Pardiden, who I met just a few turns ago, decides to declare war despite having a page full of green indicators including 'My military is weak.' Okay so before I go stomp on them I thought I would stop by and say that your AI is getting kind of impudent. ;)

As far as the cartographer's table goes, it would be really useful to have the ability to Modifier+click on a tile and see everything that's in that tile, maybe even with an XML code preview in the right pane. When you go adding stuff to the map that's fine and dandy but it would be nice to see what you have actually placed, parameters and all. This has the added bonus of giving the developers some immediate debug feedback to see if the map tool is actually
I like Swarm because it means that yeah, you can send a bunch of rookie spearmen along with your heroes, but they aren't always going to come back. Which is as it should be. It does make combat a bit more brutal but on the other hand if you can pull off your own swarm tactic, it's rewarding.
The AI loves to waste its mana on this one. Even when it can't actually increase Unrest by enough to make a difference.
The shadowing is quite a bit improved over FE in my opinion however, the eyes of units still don't look right when they're facing away from the light. Granted, the issue is kind of exaggerated here with the units set to Gigantic and the camera up close, but it's still visible at Normal size and a moderate zoom.
Derek, There are a number of city enchantments that scale according to the essence present. Basically, I will tend to place cities of a specific type only where I can find a good essence yield, instead of trying some other strategy that doesn't depend on essence. The reason for this is usually down to the selection of city enchantments available. If you added some more city enchantments that do not depend on essence quantity (just on its existence) then it help
First of all, you don't get any sort of notification when the AI enters your territory, despite the fact that there's a notification area that could easily alert you to this fact. Second of all, the AI should have the option to declare war if you refuse to allow passage. So sure, you can tell them to get out, but it could backfire into a hostile confrontation. They can be open about their intentions and say that they're going to attack someone else, in which ca
It's because players expectations have changed. Also, there's something to be said for the free publicity when someone shares a screenie or five of a game, having good graphics there can really get more people to check the game out. Not so much on social media, because there tends to be such a blur of activity there that screenshots can go ignored, but particularly on forums (other than Stardock say). My avatar is a crop of a screenshot from FE. Doe
Yeah you're right. It's just that I really struggle to find anything to compare EA to.
I think it has something to do with casters having a high Initiative, they lose a turn from being bashed but then they get another turn before you do.
They exist, but you need to choose Enchanters trait to get it.
Well, unless they're called Atlantis. ;)
Try this: Yields Mod There is still the issue of having the odd weird tile yield but there's a fair emphasis on production and essence. I've upped the minimum total tile yield to 8 to avoid having oceans of lesser yield.
Well, here's what I did today: I think it would be a ways off yet but it was fun to try.
Usual way is to set your widescreen to be the primary display, then the game will automatically use that.
Multiplayer is notoriously buggy unless it's coded by someone who knows what they're doing. You don't want to start getting into a game with some friends and then get the dreaded out of sync error. Forget for the moment the actual market for multiplayer. That's something that can wax and wane depending on the alignment of the planets, never mind how good the multiplayer experience is. But if the multiplayer is enjoyable, you're guaranteed no end o
Now if only those cave bears could maul with laser eyes... ;)
It's a bug, most likely. Only thing you can do there is dial back the grain yield. Grain is too plentiful, in my opinion, despite the fact that you need 1 grain just to get a tile yield readout.
As Brad mentioned recently, it's also a question of whether Stardock can attract the talent to write the multiplayer code. If you are or you know someone like that, nudge them to send in their resume.
You don't need to know a thing about XML, just remember that all tags need to be closed after they're used. You can pretty much copy and paste what you need. Also, you can contain a hero and their stuff inside one individual file rather than rolling all your heroes into one file. So if you make a boo-boo you're not scrolling through four hundred pages of code to figure out what went wrong. They don't have to be particularly original or have brillian
Bear in mind that you can mod in your own champions and set a fairly high occurrence rate. Time-consuming as it may be, at least then you can fill out their traits and equipment and give them enough of an army at their side that they can't easily be whacked.
Actually, that's not entirely true. I loaded up my beginning-of-game save in cheat mode, revealed the map. Lo and behold, it's a river tile. :P It's Schrödinger's Tile. :P
Okay so I razed the city and looked at the tile it was built on - says Plains (still looks like river). So ulysses_31, you had the right answer. :)
Did you have a high resource yield on that river square? I really don't see the problem really as in Civilization and even MOM one could and should setting on a river square as it produced the most of everything in those games. Why is Stardock trying to muster it out as a settling spot?
According to the city screen the yield was a sweet 3/3/3. I think one problem is that there aren't any graphics for in
This is a modded game so I can't say for sure if it's a bug or just a result of me messing around with resource yields. Either way, it's hilarious. :)
