Chalk up another supporter of your idea, Demiansky ! If done right, it would greatly enhance the player's experience. I think the "Battle of the Bulge" analogy is an apt one: Faction A, realizing it's losing the war and that the momentum is on the verge of irrevocably shifting in Faction B's favor -- be it a human player or another AI-controlled nation -- launches a bold but risky attack in a desperate make-or-break bid to win the war....or at least per

Sometimes when typing posts/replies, I'll realize it would make more sense to join two paragraphs into one. Usually the simplest way for me to do this is go to the end of the first paragraph and hit "Delete" until there are no more spaces between it and the second paragraph. However, I just noticed today that I can no longer do that -- when I hit the "Delete" button, nothing happens. I now have to go the beginning of the second paragraph and hit the "Backspace" key u

While I would love a free-form map system, I wouldn't want it at the cost of the battle AI being less capable. If I were forced to choose, I'd go with whatever helps make the AI better.
While I still hold true to the maxim that gameplay trumps graphics, I have to admit I was one of those who was less than impressed by some of the earlier screenshots. However, that is no longer the case, I'm happy to say; those new screenies look frickin' cool. [e digicons]B)[/e] Even more interesting to me is the diplomacy system and how royal families and dynastic marriages will come into play. This could add a whole new element (no pun inte
Now before you whine and wahaa Medieval Total War the first one actually has this feature. It is after you have destroyed a faction that it will return and when it does man oh mercy it returns with some very powerful units and usually a stack of them. I always loved this feature in MTW even though plenty of times it stomped me back and took several of my conquests it was still fun and challenging and of course the first time It happened quite a SURPRISE. I've always liked the Klingons' K'vort-class vessel: It's essentially a larger version of their classic B'rel-class Bird-of-Prey. Very sleek and predatory-looking, as a Klingon warship ought to. It's also a pretty well-rounded vessel, and is suited to carry out any variety of missions. Second would be the Federation's Sovereign-class. It just looks very modern, sleek, & powerful, while still retaining the original "Starfleet clean" style &

Its gameplay being up to par and working properly is of tantamount importance while the game looking good is only a side thought. Engaging gameplay fades much slower than shiny graphics do. Mostly Lords of the Realm II (with the Siege Pack expansion). However, I also played a bit of Sword of the Stars Ultimate Edition (plus the ANY expansion) along with a smidge of Shogun Total War .
In approximate order (although they're honestly all very close in my book): 1.) The new Battlestar Galactica 2.) Star Trek: The Next Generation 3.) Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 4.) Firefly 5.) Babylon 5

I've recieved conflicting hints and information about it...... solid facts, please!
Well unless & until Brad actually comments on this, I'll speculate this far: From what small tidbits that have been dropped here & there, I've gotten the vague impression that the two games don't share the same universe

I purchased and downloaded the Lords of the Realm: Royal Edition (for just $5.99!) from Good Old Games on Friday night. (I already have the disc for vanilla LotR2 , but it won't let me install for some reason.) Gods, I forgot just how much fun that game can be -- I must've spent around 15-20 hours playing it this past weekend, and it's been a looooong time since I've played a game that intensely. How in the Nine Hells is Empire Total War on that list??! It's been a piece of crap since the day of its release; it's barely better than Rome. [e digicons]>:([/e]
These really aren't so much "hates" as they are laments: Birth of the Federation : Poor AI, especially in the later game. An over-abundance of bugs -- the game should've received another 3-6 months of beta-testing before it was released. Diplomacy partially broken. Some ships and minor races are either too powerful or too weak. Medieval Total War : Poor diplomacy; factions often-times ba
