I just hope they include some kind of diplomatic win which is what i prefer in MOO 1 & 2. Unfortunately there's no forum yet. Cheers PS: cheers Martok
Cheers, Anguille . *sniff sniff* Something smells rather spammish....
Don't you mean, "The Federation will no longer *WANE*" (rather than *wean*)? When something is 'weaned' it is giving up something that it is accustomed to, clasically applied to the time when an infant no longer nurses from mother and instead takes more solid food. Wane, as in 'the Moon wanes' means to diminish, which I think from the context is wh

And even in the 2-3 campaigns where I

Some very cool stuff there! I was particularly impressed in the first video when Brad was emphasizing that they were demoing the game on only a small map, and that large maps will be 10 times that size. I can't wait to play epic-sized campaigns on them! I also loved Brad at the end of the second video where he's joking about the copy protection Elemental is going to include. Blood samples indeed.... For strategic (empire-level) AI: Galactic Civilizations 2 wins that prize hands-down, especially with both expansion packs. The computer-controlled races are pretty damned good -- sometimes, almost frighteningly so -- at reacting to the other races' plans and exploiting weaknesses (including my own). Honorable mentions: Sword of the Stars (Complete Edition) and Gary Grigsby's War Between the Stat

Another fine idea, Demiansky . Whether or not Stardock will actually be able to add it to the game is of course a big question mark, but I would love to see something like this make it in.

Aside from Elemental and possibly Sins Diplomacy, the only game there that really interests me is Star Trek Online. For all that I remain opposed to MMORPG's (for various reasons), I remain intrigued by STO in spite of myself. Well I suppose it's a good deal for those with Nvidia cards. It's just too bad they're a bunch of f***sticks who not only refuse to build their cards so that they'll be compatible with older games, but also don't offer any sort of support for those who have problems with them. [/bitter]

It's a fascinating idea....and a good one, I think. It would be quite literally a case of calling in favors, which is something I've always wanted to see in a grand strategy game. Of course, there would (and should) be inherent risks involved in "spending" your political/diplomatic capital: Since doing so would only improve the odds of another faction accepting your offers/demands -- as opposed to guaranteeing it -- and the other faction were to still refuse, then yo

While Scoutdog and kyogre12 have both raised very valid concerns -- ones which I share, truth be told -- I suspect Willythemailboy has hit upon one of the keys for keeping things balanced. If you do in fact "go Gandalf" and leave your nation behind, you risk losing it to your enemy(ies), and thus the source of your mana. In addition, if your Channeler is off doing their best "conquistador" impression, then they're also *no
This post assumes that channeler death = you lose. So you take your channeler out fighting, he is a decently tough channeler and has an escort of a couple of heroes and let's say "a good sized army", whatever that ends up being. So they go out and get in a fight with another army. What, if anything, is going to keep the opposing player from ignoring all the other units and swarming the channeler? Or is a channeler going to be theoretically power
