i have to agree as well. there should be an option for "epic" mode(which is everything like single)for the people that play with friends, and then "skirmish" mode which is for the randoms that want to compete with each other.

sure standard units can't fly over mountains, but that's why we have a lower land spell!
now i know we are very close to release so i have no illusions about getting this idea in the game before release. however, its something i have been thinking about. the problem: why would any player ally himself with someone who is attempting a diplomatic victory? to me this is something that plagues these kinds of games and this victory condition. t
i think that the experience overall was a good one. i learned alot about the game design process. i think that stardock showed a good balance of fairness to us and them. i think sometimes that we the consumer get into this mentality that we are always right because we are the consumer, but we should also defer to the artists as well. to be honest, what they did in giving us the beta took alot of courage. it would be very hard for m
game is going to seriously own. end of story. i will never believe otherwise.
there's no way they are gonna give us the game before it releases. you know, there's proper etiquette with these things. BTW: the game looks fantastic!
i think they got this covered. don't worry.
thats awesome sushi! on that note, somebody should make a stargate mod lol! have it set on a single planet, and have the stargate be the only way to get reinforcements. you would have to take control of the Naquada resource to build stargate on them. factions could be replicators, goa'uld, wraith, ancients, or whatever else. sovereigns could be
i am sure this is on the list of things to be balanced for the final game.
i would like to see some tactical battle only summons as well. it could be similar to master of magic. in that game there were spells that you can cast on the strat map and the tactical map. the cost was higher for a strat spell, but it lasted as long as you payed the cost. however, if you cast it during combat it cost less, and just lasted as long as the battle.
nice, i can't wait until the game is out. its gonna be legendary.
do you plan on having tactical turn based ship and fleet battles, because if so that would be amazing. there is so much you could do with turn based space combat.
i think that tactical battles are fine as is, i just wondered what is going on with morale.
i think this would be neat especially if the militia were a certain percentage of your total population. then assuming they won, after the battle you lost a certain amount of population based on the loses incurred in the battle. say you have a pop of 1000(not sure what city level this is) then you might have 10 percent of your pop in a militia. this would be 100. i say make 5 20 unit stacks for co
thats what i have been thinking, is that we are not playing the final game . i don't understand people... it has been said many many times that the beta's are not the final game. we have had discussions about damage types: piercing, crushing etc. these will make the weapons different. final modifier balance: att/def/combat speed values are not
good job! very nice.
i was watching the gametrailers video, and i noticed on the tactical battle UI there doesn't seem to be a reference to morale. did this feature get axed, or am i missing something obvious here? i know in the beta that there wasn't seemingly a reference to it, but i chalked that up to being the beta, however i think that brad said in the CA dev journal that this was the final UI.
seriously? the game isn't out yet. unless you transported yourself into the future and played the game, i would reserve your judgment. civ 5 doesn't even have tactical battles, they have strategic battles. this is a whole different beast. these tactical battles are gonna be infinitely deeper than civ 5's. nobody knows what this game will transform itself into, until atleast, a couple of years. also, who said tactical battles
Looking good indeed, though the tactical battle was definitely the weakest part of the presentation. I do not wish to complain, but what's the point of introducing squads if a single soldier does the dirty job while the remaining squad-mates bravely watch him shedding his blood from a safe distance? I do understand each soldier is meant to protect tile borders, but it looks pretty ridiculous.
<
i would like this feature as well. i am more of a watcher than a participant. tactical battles, the spectator sport!
i have to agree with frog on some points. most people let fly on forums without abandon. if you don't like something, you can be polite about it. if your grandmother made a cake and it was good, but not great you wouldn't tell her it was "horrid", or laugh in her face. i say this, if you don't agree on something then simply say i don't agree, AND then state what you think would be a better way. honestly i am sometimes embarrassed b
excellent work, this will be handy to alot of players.
i hate to wish my life away, but damn i want the 24th to be here already!
for the larger maps saving and continuing later is super important. i have faith in you guys that even if its a bit bugged at first this will get fixed at some point.
i just need to know if i can save a game in multiplayer and then load it back up with the same, or perhaps even different players at a later date. if so, does it save the game to the stardock servers or everybody elses?
