the way things go could be influenced by the personality of said champion. maybe if the champion had some inclination toward your sovereign he may choose to take over a faction that your at war with on his own. or maybe if he was bribed by a rival sovereign(who doesn't want you to know he had a hand in it) he may attack one of your settlements, take it from you and start attacking you with its people. lots of possibilities here i think.

[quote who="Thiryn" reply="7" id="2615143"]So basically, if a champion managed to take a city by itself it could control that city and become an independant nation of sorts - only with limited expansion (i.e. - only being able to take other sov's cities as the champion wouldn't have the power to restore land etc.) is that what you're saying? If so, I like the idea. It'd be cool - but I doubt any champion would ever manage it. Not unless you, as a Sov, hired them a

well i suppose i should have worded the title a bit differently. what i mean is if the wandering heroes could attack a settlement and take it over for themselves. i guess they don't have to be sovereign necessarily but they could, using normal tech create armies and try to cut out a niche for themselves, maybe even become a super power unto themselves. edit : i am gonna edit the original post so that it makes things a bit more clear.

i think it would be cool if one of the wandering heroes in the game some how got to a certain level(maybe they gain levels automatically by fighting stuff and whatnot) and no one hired them, AND somehow gained a certain amount of units and attacked a factions city and won. they would become like a sovereign and found a new faction in that settlement. then they would start to expand. they wouldn't have access to any magic but could utilize standard tech and build armies. it would g

yeah i know what you mean. there really isn't any tough choices, and in my opinion strategy games are the most fun when you have to sit and really think about the tough choices you have to make. i would even go as far as say its vital.

hi, i am new to the beta and i would like to suggest that during sovereign creation, that a player be allowed to go beyond the 15 point limit on attributes. however anything beyond 15 would cost 2 points instead of 1, and have the max set to 20. so to max out at 20 would cost you 15 points. not sure if this has already been suggested or not, as there are a lot of suggestions to go through. what do you guys think?

please guys, take all the time you need. put as many features as you want and balance it all you want. this is the game i have been waiting on for such a long time, and in my opinion i believe that its Civ V that needs to be worried about you and not vice versa. we have played those games to death, i mean how many times can you move through the ages and do the same thing? i have specifically not joined the beta so that the experience is as fresh and wonderous as it can

i think that there should be many diffrent random names. i think you should be able to make up your own custom name, but if you don't want one then there could be like 20 random names or something. also it would be neat if based on your economy your kingdoms currency may have slightly higher value in the marketplace than others when trading with neighbors. just like in real life, some currency has a higher exchange rate than others. no need to have everyones

hey it would be cool that if you had a road connecting a city to one of your fringe towns and that fring town gets destroyed by monsters or an army it would become a ruins tile over time if you don't rebuild it. after it becomes a ruins tile maybe the road gets all grown up with weeds and looks unmaintained because of lack of use. then monsters and stuff start spawning out of the ruins and attack the closest settlement. that would be neat.

i believe that the organic road idea breathes life and uniqeness into the world. it gives each game individuality when you take off the iron gauntlet and let people rule themselves to a certian extent. i would love to see a road be built on its own and then down the road some enterprising AI entity put an inn on that road somewhere to only be destroyed by a giant or something because it was to close to his home in the mountains. this sort of thing would really make each game

i really like the idea of organic roads as well. it seems to me that for the most part the merchants in the ancient and medieval times were prob the ones that built most of the roads, considering they gained the most profit from it. also the roads should find the easist, not necessarily the quickest as most people would naurally gravitate to a comfortable and easy path around a mountain instead of over it(unless the mountain chain was just to long). i think that roads sh
