you see i think the game is finished, so therefore stardock has stood behind their gamers bill of rights with me. you disagree, which is your right. however, you have made your point, you have let all of us know that you don't like it. MOVE ON there is nothing else to talk about. you can't make your opinion fact.

wait, in the beta you could send a pioneer out and get resources, is this not the case anymore? you just create a pioneer and send him to the resource that's outside your area of influence and then when he gets there click on him and then click build. i think you only get half the resources this way tho.

yeah i would say that the game was delivered finished. i played for about an hour and i had no problems and loved it. you are obviously wanting an absolutely perfect game, hey guess what, its not possible. nobody is going to agree on everything. you can look at it 2 ways. either you have 9 out of 10 things right and accept that and have fun, or you can have 1 out of 10 things wrong and obsess over it and let it destroy your enjoyme

wait, in beta 4 each city that you had beyond your first had an increasing upkeep. every city you built started to cost more and more gold per turn. has this not translated to the final game?

oh, its going to run wild alright. the game itself is excellent, but wait a year and let the mod community mature, its gonna knock your socks off!

well my impressions are simple really, the game is amazing! i waited for the update to the gold before i started playing and i am blown away, its just about everything i wanted. it runs great(getting a bit of screen tearing, no biggie tho), it looks fabulous . i have played it for about an hour now, and everything is coming together excellently. I LOVE THE NEW UI. i can't express this enough.&n

AI will keep getting better and better, prob will be be lots of updates, prob bi weekly i am guessing. brad has said that he is taking some time off in the fall just to do AI work. going to be amazing.

wow, even in beta 4 that was pretty tough... don't know what to say then. i haven't played the final yet, gonna wait until tomorrow when the day 0 patch is released. i advise waiting until then and try it again.
Game shouldn't have been released in this condition.
hmm, the game technically hasn't BEEN released yet. this is a pre release version, after the 24th then start the griping.

ha ha i love this thread, really gives you some insight to the nature of humans. i think some psychology researchers should do an experiment with this. make a website about a new and amazing game that everybody is dying to play and keep on delaying it, but at the same time keep people right on the edge like its about to release at any time. catalog all the different personalty types.

i am playing oblivion with a crap load of mods, of course it would be nice if stardock and bethesda would get with the OBSE mod maker and get it working for the impulse version of oblivion. i wanna use deadly reflexes among others.

sure, when AI fights AI its not shown, but if a human attacks an AI and fights a tac battle then yeah your going to have to watch it. that's the idea i am getting from stardock, that the game engine works this way. to me, if thats the way the game works, then for the dedicated stardock servers then autoresolve only should be enabled, and when the custom servers are released to us then there should be a threshold limit set by the host.

the thing is, if there are 8 players and 8 AI opponents. by turn 200, you would be seeing possibly 20 or more battles a turn, this would drive me insane. turns would take 30 minutes to an hour apiece, talk about pacing problem! i just wonder if it is a game engine issue. it might be that the way the current game is programmed, you either watch all tactical battles or none at all. why would i want to watch every battle my opponent g

hmm i have a sneaking suspicion that the game engine cannot do tactical battles while the other players are off looking at their own lands and whatnot. if there are 6 players, and a tactical battle takes place, do the other 4 have to watch them, or can they do other stuff while its taking place? is it a game engine limitation? if 2 enemies walk into my lands, and i can see them, and they engage each other will i get an animation of them swinging awa

i would like this, but i kind of sped up version. i would like to pit AI programmers AI against one another. i loved doing this in supreme commander. i would pit the sorain AI against the other various ones just to see who's was better. of course sorians almost always won, it was a damn good AI.

yeah, the first time i saw the cell shaded graphics i let out a little groan. however, i have grown quite fond of the art style and the graphics. i just bought a new gtx460, i doubt the game will push it to the limit, but i am ready [e digicons][/e] .

i have hopes things will work out for the tactical battles. i play with my friends, and all of us talk over teamspeak or vent. its not a big deal to wait on peoples turns to finish. we talk and have a good time. for the stardock servers i think auto calc is fine, but for the custom servers we should have a choice. the stardock servers are probably where most of the competitive gaming is going to be done, but the custom private serv
