This is why I think we really need buffs to militia (esp vs champs) and buffs on high-level buildings (requiring city level 3-4, maybe some buildings such as schools should get a bonus per city level?)
I think the AI is a little too ramped up on picking on folks with small armies. Small army should mean you're vulnerable to attack- but the AI should have a plan to take all of your cities and just roll you if it attaks, instead of attacking, having others swipe in and take the cities instead, which is what usually happens.
Crash on the new build, end-of-turn, nothing unusual on turn: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6609288/debug%201029.err Also, one unusual note, on my first champ, the game wouldn't accept me recruiting the champion and kept asking me until I said no, no gameplay impact as I could recruit the champion, just a UI issue. Edit: another crash
Challenging AI can't be too hard, as long as it doesn't cheat. Most veteran players would say challenging isn't hard enough. The AI still does some things I don't like such as not moving for several turns. I don't want an X-Com scenario where you have to choose between gimped AI or cheating AI (and that right there is half the reason I'm not buying the game) Normal AI is what's supposed to be normal.
I know a couple of game reviewers- this time of year they are super, super busy.
I got a hang-up crash with this build, shortly after the Medium-strength she-wolf quest. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6609288/debug.err
Noticed a performance boost myself.
Maybe not the place, I just hope future Stardock TBS games aren't doomed to mandatory Steamworks. hearing about the growing pains of SDC scares me some in that regard. Note: I don't hate Steam, I just don't want to be forced to run Steam to play a game because it's been problematic at times- when that happens I want to just be able to run the game executable and play it.
I've been playing on challenging- I suspect it's equal chance, though you never know for certain.
I love stuff like this- I'd love to see Stardock come out with a new sprite game. Sprite art is still the best art.
I've seen the monsters attack the AI. The one thing I'm unsure of is whether the monsters prefer to attack the player instead of the AI, if it has a chance to attack both. How does it figure who to attack when it has two options?
Hmm... FE sequel? Galciv 3? Society? There was also an elemental RPG mentioned in a roadmap somewhere... so many options!
FE's graphics do some things really nicely, and it did female armor right. However, I don't think I could ever be satisfied with the graphics, because I wanted customization like you got in a 3d fighting game like Soul Calibur or Virtua Fighter. I wanted to s
Simply put, unless I tactical combat, panthers will take out a champion every time in quick combat. In tactical combat they're not so bad, but quick combat I suspect they give the AI fits.
I am interested, I often have time to test things late at night over the weekend, if that would help.
Are you insured against your private builds causing players to transform into frogs?
Only if you start getting better at fractions.
Well the AI doesn't get to complete quests automatically. They simulate the quest (rolling the dice) and they aren't allowed to go on tons of quests like you humans are! And they don't get to save games. What you're seeing is the tirene taking out a battleship roll. Blame old man Paxton for letting the AI go get dragons from quests or what have you. XML controls whether the AI is allowed to go on quests. I just take
It seems to really click fast, hard to turn one page instead of two. Unsure if that's my mouse or the page.
Ceresa is the most dangerous unit in the game, especially now that she can cast Dirge and Graveseal at any time. Mages can be super-dangerous, but you generally want wargs, HP boosts (to keep them from being arrows/flamebolted), init boosting (same reason), and spell powering stuff. Mages also make good support for warriors, esp given how strong defense is in general.
Including me I did check the status in the steam store, and very few people are playing FE yet. I hope the sales will be good.
It did have a good first day. This game has a good bit of baggage to overcome to the general public, but it's good enough to overcome that baggage if folks are willing to give it a chance. I have a feeling this game is going to do better then average
I'm not sure why it was such a problem for so many to remove the beta... Go to Add/Remove programs. Select from list. Done. It's that simple....for XP users.
For me, it wasn't in Add/Remove programs.
This bug has been around the longest of the healthbar bugs, not sure I've ever seen it fixed.
I'd like to see MP personally, but I'd like to see other features more. This game has a lot of direction for expansion. I'd be curious if MP could work as a kickstarter- I think that would be the fairest way to judge whether it should be done- let the MP community pay for it.
As a general rule, I would suggest never runing registry fix / cleanup applications. Unless you know what you are doing you can cause serious problems! Just use the application uninstaller, reboot after uninstallation (if the product might have files in use - unlikely with a game), and then run the new installer.
There was no application uninstaller in my case, I looked for tha
