Here's my idea. replace 1DN with (exp level) DN , keep highest roll. Linking it to unit level makes intuitive sense also, as this would make experienced units more consistent, which is when the glass cannon syndrome strikes hardest. (It's usually not a problem in the early game) If this becomes too consistent or inconsistent for certain units : what could be done is changing it to a keep highest 2 dice, then divide by 2,

One suggestion- how about x DN rolls, take highest. training levels determine the number of dice rolled. Maybe start with 2 or 3, then add 1 for each level of experience? You'd still get the botches, but they'd be rarer on your high end units. The downside is reduced variance on high end units, but a critical hit feature could solve that. (also assuming to-hit and damage gets seperated, as it needs to be) The real issue wit
I got Racettear coming this weekend- so I can wait a few days.
There's a good number of techs in this game, not counting the repeatable techs. My guess would be between 80-100. We do need some more rare ones though.

For example I get the impression some think they should by like full factions setting up more cities and such, which kinda defeats the purpose of "minor" faction. Personally when I talk about them growing I think that they should build up their city so that it becomes stron
While I don't think they should grow- they should try to conquer when attacked, and be rather hard nuts to crack. There should also be a peaceful assimilation option, if you have marriage relations, high relations, and a large amount of gold.
Looks like "light evening armor" to me But seriously, don't add any playboy-style pseudo armors for females into the game. Moreover, a woman in combat with long hair waving all around is only asking to be grabbed by them. It's all quite silly.
Fun > Practicality. It's not like people are going to get ideas from Elemental, and girls ar
To me, the "greatest bug of all" is the broken gameplay (I "can't" play the game if I don't want to), so I could definitely do without these intermediate releases if it meant a quicker timetable for version 1.1. But yes, I can understand if other people want general fixes first. I'll just wait patiently
It's hard to fix gameplay when people are having technical issues. These changes will

As of 1.07, most major issues have been resolved and the game is really fun. If the game had Sid Meier's name on the box, it would be pulling 8's easily. If it had Sid Meier's name on it, it wouldn't be this buggy. It still crashes for many people and a lot of things aren't working correctly. Pull off
Some of these spells would be cheap, some costly, some area, some single-target Left things open ended for balance's sake, though I do agree with your general gist of things. diamond skin is an expensive defense spell. Encase is a random stun, and metal to stone doesn't prevent movement I just didn't know if EQ-destroying spells would be fair, as there's no way to repair equipment right now. Some
This came up in IRC. I think there needs to be somewhat of an RPS relationship between the three, but not a hard one. I see it this way Dragons should crush Armies Armies should wear down Heroes with numbers Heroes should slay Dragons The way I look at it. Dragons should be a real threat to Armies, as Armies should not be able to harm the Dragon much. Dragons should have high
I'd rather see a zero-tolerance policy for trolling instead of locking. If needbe, hire some volunteer community mods for it.
What's REALLY needed is for SD to get some mods up on Impulse.

While it is certainly a huge bummer that Stardock won't be able to do two games at the same time, the flip side is that we can focus on Elemental for a long long time to come. Moreover, the horrible launch does have on silver lining - it liberates us. Not just Stardock but all of us. You, me, the community as a whole to do things with this game that have never
quick change to stop the exploit: amke it where the sovereign doesn't die unless he loses the battle, he recovers with 1 hp. I'd rather see a succession dynamic though. This would encourage diplomacy early, or at least hero recruiting. Janusk should be unmarryable though, snip his balls off if you have to.
Well, if you look at the other thread- there were some idiots. I think a better choice then Brad going away would be stakings of posters who are particularly idiotic (as opposed to critical). Saying you're going to stop posting- it isn't going to help the constructive sorts in here, and your loyal fanbase, bounce ideas off you to make the game better, which is the point of the posts. That doesn't mean you have to tolerate trolling, but Tasunke made an excel
My concern is the mechanics, not how cool it looks. For those whining about this, I'm pretty sure he's talking about the effects, not the gameplay. I don't know though, I haven't seen Avatar, just some cosplays from friends, can someone explain what he means by this? I'm unsure. Then again, if I was to base magic off a series, it would be Slayers, though it wouldn't fit in too well with the EWOM mythos. I just want a Dragon Slave

That said, the performance is improving rap
This should be an option, that is default on, until you've got the engine mostly down then you should switch to default off. Basically, Copy Valve in this regard. On the Shift+Tab Impulse, add a report bug feature, that opens a screen that's identical to what Valve uses with TF2. When someone sends a bug, the game also sends their config, an autosave, and debug.err I think that would make fixing things
Funny thing is, I didn't really have many problems playing the game other than the occasional OOM crash. In the end, what's kept me from booting it up addictively like I did the first couple of days (I was pre-order) is that despite not actually having finished a single game yet (due to patches and lack of time to play), I'm not really dying to get back home to it. I feel like I've already seen about as much a
I was the one who was pushing for the re-release of EWOM, seeing your sales figures- I can understand why you are choosing not to. How does that compare to GCII at this time, and is that a fair comparison? My suggestion was really this: that when you release the 2nd XP, that you release that as a stand-alone, so that can be reviewed on its own merits- and you will get a very positive review of a game without major bugs. If a bad review is followed up
I like fanservice.
There was a lot of passion involved around this game. So anything less tthen top notch was going to be viewed as a Waterworld. Add in some drama surrounding Brad in various places- and you got Waterworld+ Disasterpiece Theatre, and that's what makes it seem so bad. It really isn't- it's just that expectations were sky high, and we got a mediocre game at launch. (no, it's not horrible, but it could be a lot better) I think once everything calms do
oh, on the AI part 1- I'd rather see the minors behave more like majors then the other way around. Just my own preference, maybe this should be poll before proceeding to see what to try first?
