Both expansions being free seems a little over the top, I think I am getting more than I deserve, I have bought plenty of games that preformed worse than this one and didn't get shit for those. Thanks, Brad. It's this kind of caring for the customers that got me to buy this game without reading a review and will have be buying your next, becasue I know you guys care about your customers and products. Now, if your next game comes
September 15, 2010 2:20:40 PM Honestly, I wouldn't bat an eye if we just got rid of the books/campaigns altogether. Build us a decent tutorial and l
Honestly, the campaigns aren't something I care about that much. I'd only play a campaign at most once, but I'd play the sandbox over and over. I'd rather see a focus on creating a wide variety of toys for the sandbox via techs/quests/etc, so that games feel more unique.
You'll get your wish this week most likely.
In that case, maybe save the MP for 1.09 if changes aren't ready this week?
Will you let us know here if it passes or fails today?
I think this is designed to prevent abuses. It may be a WAD.
My personal spin on what is happening with the (lack of) stampeding PC development is.... Microsoft. Their insistence that you upgrade your OS to get next generation DirectX, combined with Vista being wholly unpalatable, combined to keep a large segment of gamers 'last generation'. That combined with the recession makes it rather risky and pointless to make games for insane rigs. We're starting to see higher requirements a
Attractive armor does not necessarily mean objectified. My idea when this game came out for a custom mod was an all-female army in Miko outfits, with leaders who dressed differently. Not really a lot of skin, but still attrractive and all that. Was also thinking my Sueng Mina custom in SC4 (though using Mina online was masochism)
On #4, I really think towns with the proper warfare tech should have an intrinsic militia. Egalitarian should give a bonus to militia.
How about a mod that moves the techline up some to muskets and cannons? Really, the main thing I want is more stuff in the game though- not too picky. My real concern is making the mods easy to install through Impulse.
Another question can a tech from one tree be a prereq to a tech from another tree?
The best thing to do is simple, don't buy games with ridiculous forms of DRM. I absolutely LOVE the concepts behind RUSE, but I will never buy it because of the draconian requirements to play the game. Same goes for Wings of liberty, no internet no play .. OK no buy. If we don't feed them, they will die... the companies will just fail. That is the only solution .. that or m
How I'd do it. Mana- amount of magic that can be cast from your empire. Essence- amount of magic that can be cast from said character in a turn. high-level strategic spells would be expensive enough manawise that only levelling up trains into essence would be able to make those spells castable. Intelligence- power of magic. Maybe, in addition, require minimum int for certain levels of spells. If unique perks are added t
Janusk should be disabled for MP. Easy solution.
And yeah, as WhiteElk said, that third party client, which is really popular- the reason I don't use their service for many games is due to what he said. I know with Impulse, if they jack things up bad enough, and I have to dispute, my games aren't going bye-bye. BTW, I'm not saying chargeback is the immediate option, that's an abuse of power- but if I really got hosed by someone, and it couldn't be resolved in a timely manner, I would. With that othe
I see no reason why a kingdom person couldn't ride a warg, while an empire person (particularly those of Kraxis) couldn't ride horses. Given how rare mounts are is as, it makes even less sense. My suggestion: move wargs up the tech tree to be a better mount, make horses available to all factions.
I think tech trading should be automatic and trade based. Not something you do with diplomacy. This is how factions should get unique stuff from indies as well.
The Kumquat engine was originally designed for Society, according to the TTA podcast. I wonder how it will be used. Maybe as a loss leader to get games on Impulse? Ultimately, games get judged on their gameplay- engine is just a part of that, so they gotta get all of Elemental fun first.
The fieeld that says "Clicking on the United States will" does not scroll in Firefox, and gets cut off.
You can install on multiple computers- GC2 I've done this. I'd do it for Elemental, but the game won't run on my 8yr old laptop. (doesn't meet specs so not shocked)
Glad to see journals are re-opened. Are you ever going to sell codes for that DLC separate from the book? Would you be allowed to? 2nd question: Are you guys going to look at MP for potential AI improvements or game balancing?
If Brad's AI got to cheat as much as Epic AI's in Civ got to cheat, no one would ever stand a chance. Not a fair comparison at all. You should compare the AI's at Normal for Civ IV and Challenging for Elemental
I think a better solution is to not give other units HP on level up. Keep numbers in check , and have experience affect other areas. I agree con should be a modifier to hp, rather then straight hp necessarily. A large hp sovereign could be massively overpowered.
