Saw this article about a shark attack in South Africa. It is not the seal that interested me but the account of how the man chose to ignore the warning signs. It is fairly obvious that he ignored the warning signs for the most basic of reasons.... in exactly the same fashion that the villagers eventually chose to ignore the boy who cried wolf. This is the most basic of concepts that authorities continually fail to comprehend.... in other words the authorities are like t

I like dynasties in war of magic, but it is a bit slow and limited, i would not shed a tear if it was gone. I find it to be very very disappointing that you cannot compound certain abilities in generational terms because that is exactly what would make dynasties very interesting in War of magic! When i say 'generational terms' i am talking about some kind of means of influencing and compounding your desired attributes of the royal family over generations but ful

After updating to 1.39 i had the issue where my game would not load at all, but i found out that was because i had my internet unplugged! I did not see any similar error to yours reported so far? Most likely it is to do with your individual computer configuration. In your situation i might first try resetting my computer to the more stable default settings in Bios and graphics then see what happens? If that didn't work i might try and find out how to delete the game and re- downlo
The best movie villains are the actors that naturally look like villians and no one does that better than Brian Thomson!
The only similar thing i have noticed is with the very first starting tech. Once you build your first library or hire your first scientific Hero, research options remain asleep for several turns unless the player manually opens the tech tree. Alternatively, combat whereby you are attacked will override technology selection options if said combat occurs the same turn a technology is completed. You have to manually open technology options yourself if you want to change th

I have been playing 1.39 beta this weekend. Aside from the broken auto next unit (which Frogboy says he is trying to fix), the game has been quite fun so far! What i like most is the way city development has intensified and it is a much bigger part of the game now! But i am playing my own map with plenty of resources..... i can imagine a random map would have me tearing my hair out over food most of the time!!! So i would probably be wanting to hi
Having the same problem. Looking into it. That's why there was no update this week, still trying to figure it out. This is kind of a "gotta fix before another update goes out"
Fantastic! Units with move orders are supposed to come last in the auto select next unit feature, but that rule has never been entirely consistent in previous versions .... in other words, sometimes units wi
In fact, ALL of the Elemental betas have required internet access. It downloads the datablob everytime you open it. However, you shouldn't need Impulse open. If you get that error, try hitting shift + tab. This should bring up the impulse login within Elemental.
My first Beta.... Your probably right that i would not get the error save for the fact
I know precisely what the problem is.... the auto select next unit doesn't work properly, never has. It usually works ok towards the beginning of the game, but after a while it starts screwing up and forgetting some units that are waiting for orders while showing you all the units that already have move orders!! It has been going on in all the older versions of the game i have played, so presumably Brad finally shot this lame horse in the head in version 1.39 rather than fix it. T
Cheeky Beta! I will have to see if i can get the command line switch working. There are quite a few games that do not think customers have any right to choose weather or not they are connected to the internet.... i don't own any of them!
I updated the game yesterday to 1.39 and had no problem running the game then. I was even using the map editor which means i have to restart the game many times (since the game is incapable of switching from one map to another or switching from map editor to game play without crashing.) I probably did have Impulse running in the background tho, but normally i do not keep Impulse on. This morning when i tried to run the game with Impulse off, after a while it gives me a
Going by the abundance of evidence in the real world, it is quite clear that Karma actually works in the opposite way to our definition of the term (and Earl).... Therefore one could suggest that the universe may actually be offended and consider it a sin to give Karma to people on the forum for being good/helpful!!
hrrrm,.... I suppose there is nothing wrong with that idea aside from possibly being not very exciting. Might be likely that most people would have other things they would be more exited about doing with the game before coming down to this idea?
the ten town limit will BLOCK any attempt to boost the growth rate as it is limited to .1 per turn per town, so to build ONE four man squad per turn you would NEED 40 or MORE towns, and even if you had fifty royalty heros with high charisma in one town it would STILL grow at 0.1 per turn which is WHY there has been so much grumbling about the prestige penalty system. harpo
Updated to 1.3

There is one outstanding piece of advice that i always follow when using the internet.... Never never ever click on anything using the word 'free' !!!! And then once everyone learns to take that advice, i suppose the tricksters will switch from using the word 'free' to using the word 'expensive' because who would ever suspect the word 'expensive' could lead to a scam??? Example... "this extremely expensive penis enlargement product with a
Hi I have been playing the 1.3 update for the last couple of weeks. It has been a long time since i first established my empire and then all my cities went to sleep. I have been very patient for quite some time now, i am beginning to tire of the stagnant development of my empire which seems to be dragging on and on well beyond all reason and sanity!!!! From other threads i am aware there was some issue with a prestige penalty and that it has been fixed in 1.39 update.
I think the best thing about Doctor Who is that it is not produced by American studios, because when American studios make brilliant sci fi shows, they can't wait to stupidly screw them up just when everyone gets interested in them (there are a few 'few' exceptions). I am still pissed off over Firefly for example!

I have been playing 1.3 this week too. But i played my own custom map which was loaded with abundant resources goodies and key NPC's at the start, so i avoided several of those problems. As my game matures and all the goodies have long since run out, i am very surprised to find that my empires progress has basically FLATLINED to nothing! Something seems to have gone seriously wrong with population growth??? Also this has a secondary effect of starving me of gold since i ca
Oh wah whah cry us a river. The MAJORITY of gamers want a game of challenge and replayability not some ROMPER ROOM GAME like YOU want. The Developers are correct to listen to the HARDCORE gamers as they are their biggest support group for THESE TYPES OF GAMES. Only a HANDFUL of ROMPER ROOM players buy these types of games and then they want to come along and ruin it for the HARDCORE with their whinning and crying about "it's too hard
You can create a storage folder and keep a copy of each game version in there. I know it works because I have version 1.09 on my wife's laptop which plays just fine after i had transferred the game file there and it doesn't even have Impulse installed on it! In hindsight, wish i had done this for all versions of the game. NB: i do not think i have ever seen a more 'whack a mole' series of game updates in my entire life as i have with Elemental! I
