In every game i have ever played, over several updates up to 1.1, my auto unit select and auto end turn always dies at some point during the game. Auto unit select always still tries to work a little bit here and there, but predominately i always have to use the find unit with moves button. Now the frustrating thing with the find unit button is that it picks up all the units with move orders, i just put up with it usually. Last night i decided to delete all my caravans

This reminds me of an odd thing with the civilization series.... in civ 2 you can build irrigation in desert tiles, but in later versions you cannot?? The weird thing about this is that in reality, of course you can build irrigation in the desert, many countries do it quite successfully, but somehow someone somewhere came along after civ 2 and decided to ignore reality and forbid it??? So if big name games like the civ series can get away with offending the reality of i

I agree with the OP in the case where i am using mounted archers. My hand gets so tired from all the impatient clicking i am doing, trying to get the morons to shoot while they stand around waiting for the previous enemy carcass to decompose. Then if dodging occurs, I'm like "oh God this is frustrating" click click click click click click click, "just freakin shoot damb you" click click click click..... hand tired, bored, frustrated do we need this idiocy really?? As i mentioned before, allowing access to soldiers equipment the same as hero's would solve the problem, but the soldier could be restricted in the equipment it can use and also it cannot equip a weapon type other than that which it was created with. In other words, if you want to give a more powerful weapon to a soldier who is using a short sword, he can only use one handed bladed weapons. Also any units joining squads, if squad joining/leaving is allowed, must equip t

Didn't you know, the merchant in Elemental works for the Skirineen from the game Deadlock!

What i noticed in the game is that you cannot manipulate equipment on soldiers, that stands out much more than upgrading! It sends us all a message loud and clear that soldiers are intended to be a dead end creation in the game. I would assume this is because soldiers equipment is manufactured, not purchased and Stardock must believe it important to game balance that players should not be able to manufacture their own equipment. I would agree with this in the context of earlier game v

With the 1.1 update, custom sovereign is less powerful. You will need to carefully consider different options depending on if you want a short game or a long game!

Since 1.1 there is a bit of a 'missing link' in combat terms at the start of the game. In earlier game versions you could get things like flame dart or archery quite early (depending on setup choices) but now, all these things are tucked away behind a large technology barrier. You are pretty much forced to select military tech first up or happen upon a minor race. In my case, i always build my own maps and ensure several minor races are nearby - problem solved!
Several points to touch on: A uniform is a uniform, but biology is also biology. Mistikmind, if I showed you two U.S. Army soldiers in the same desert camo, one male and one female, are you saying you couldn't tell them apart? The clothing/equipment can be the same, but there are still sufficient differences, IMHO, to distinguish them - especially if we are talking about sheets of metal that need to fit a person properly to do their j

Since 1.1 I find creatures can easily wipe me out at the beginning of the game, on any difficulty level. The problem is that you are not provided with any short term means of defending yourself..... such things as flame dart or archery which i could access fairly early in previous game versions have been moved behind a large barrier of technology now in 1.1 So the proverbial rug has been pulled out from under us at the start! This and bland maps has caused me to give up

Transforming spells are useful for traveling around if you get blocked by mountains/sea - but primarily for creating mountain passes. It can also be easily exploited to gain significant advantage against the AI

I noticed random maps in 1.1 became too bland and boring. As a result i was forced to learn the map editor and i have never looked back since! Mastering the map editor has increased my enjoyment of the game by a factor of 10 easily! And there is a long list of saved maps all set up, so you don't have to do too much at all if you don't want to - i use the saved maps, add a heap of extra stuff, this and that, and then I'm in the best games ever!

In the real world, army uniforms look pretty much the same for male or female, and even rank, because In the battlefield, you do not want the enemy to be able to easily identify who is who. Police in riot gear certainly look identical regardless of sex as well. The point is, as far as realism and logic is concerned, there is no reason to have female style armor. Having said that, i do have to concede that games where female/male equipment is done well, it certainly does add to the enj

1.1 killed random maps in my opinion. And I also thought lost libraries were no more because of this! But then again there is allot less of everything in 1.1 random maps. Their so bland and boring i don't bother with random maps at all anymore, they have been nerfed into oblivion. But one good thing did come out of killing random maps - it forced me to learn the map editor, and i have never looked back since! PS: in one map i created, i put 4 lost libraries in c

it is not uncommon for a bug to be saved with the game, so if you try the saved game on another pc it will still have the issue. What would surprise me is if you loaded and old saved game that did not originally have the bug on your old computer that did not originally have the bug and it suddenly came up with the bug! The other possibility is your internet connection. I had an internet connection once whereby certain downloaded games had bugs or

I strongly feel 1.1 = R.I.P sandbox game because of resources. Learn to use the map editor, it is the only way forward now, and i love it!

on the other hand, if it is an 'out of memory error', i think the OP's remark is just as useful as sending in crash logs, (pointless either way).

I have hardly even noticed the effects mentioned so far. What i have noticed far more in my games with regard to pathfinding (not exactly pathfinding but in that general area) in order of annoyance are as follows; 1) Walking near cliffs. I dread walking near cliffs (north face) due to the high probability of wacky destination selection. I use the keypad for basic up and sideways moves, but angle moves with the keypad are inconsistent. &nbs

Look in your dynasty tab, it will list them there. They will be either newborn babies or grown up! How many parents would live that idea? No terrible two's, no teenage years!!
If you put your cursor over the unit icons on the side of the screen, you should be able to scroll down with your mouse wheel until you find city icons. Then you can click on the city icons and it will bring you to that city. Also, I'm not sure, but there may be a scroll bar next to the icons.
I think i tried that already? I will give it another try tonight, thanks. There is certainly no scroll bar.

I saw this bug once in the earlier version but a bit different since all hero's were free! But that only happened once. The same hero's turning up repeatedly is very common in earlier versions. So far i cannot remember seeing the same hero's turning up more than once in 1.1? But i haven't been looking for this issue, since it is hardly significant too me, so i could be wrong?
