I get that 'off the mark' tile selection thing too - it is usually no big deal. The most annoying tile selection anomaly happens when your guy runs totally in the opposite direction to what you expect! This occurs when there is a narrow pass in between your guy and the destination and there is an AI unit standing in the narrow pass. The other annoying control issue i get allot is when i have a nice army of hero's and try to enter combat and only 1 hero goes in!! That happens bec
Stardock could create an expensive item in a game that is of no real use?? I don't believe it, Ahem, cough galactic resort, cough, secret police,... cough cough

You -could- always go into the Quest XML's and set them all to be repeatable if you wanted to though. (If you've no experience with HTML or XML, it doesn't matter so much. It's really not that hard, you're just changing some 0's to 1's in the section of XML code tagged as .)

The auto resolve from inside a battle can be useful at times - especially when melee units reach my archers and i have decimated them enough that my auto resolve value is much higher now .... and if i remained in the battle i would surely have more casualties otherwise

I prefer longer games, so the time line for children does work for me, but still, i can see that it is way more slow than it really needs to be! Perhaps a combination of making it much harder to take cities, and reducing the time line for children a bit, that will balance things out better?
I brought the game 3 weeks ago. Honestly, when I first started playing it, I was beginning to question my purchase. The game grew on me and now I can not get enough. I love the artwork and atmosphere.
My first impression of the game the first time i played it - very easy to get into, no problem understanding the basics of what is going on around the place, that impressed me - almost shocked me! In my last game, when i got to the stage of having the grey ancient ruins with the spiders that don't give you a turn in combat.... i noticed there were quite a number of those ruins on the map, then suddenly they wee all gone? I thought it may have happened after a reload of the game or perhaps it happened after i won the first spider battle? I was only able to do one ruins spider battle in the entire game, is that how it is supposed to work perhaps? Either way, i am at that
With regard to the city spacing - I had an odd event occur in one game, i was building two cities next to each other in order to contain an AI nation. Suddenly i could not add any more buildings to one of my cities! To the best of my knowledge this is what caused it... There was an ancient library in between the two cities, as soon as that ancient library got harnessed, immediately one city lost the ability to have any new buildings added! I counted the distances, no building in the f

This is really annoying as the main reason for researching this branch is enabling further expansion, so if you are not very lucky on your initial stating position expanding your kingdom becomes a case of Catch-22. I really hope this will be fixed in later update.
Huh? New resources only spawn in my area of influence?? </
Your not missing anything - I never put groups of units in cities if i intend to keep moving them, regardless of any movement boost i may get which can be quite substantial, it just isn't worth the hassle of having to regroup all the units each time.
It is a fun game, worth the money! When i first played the game, what caught my interest first up is making use of terrain bonuses for my new cities, then the treasures that you find on the map are fascinating, especially level 2 and higher, and for me, remain the top area of interest in the game! Then character development is extremely interesting as well. It is not all good tho, but despite all the other problems people have complained about, there really is o
Personally i think it is gold that is behind the feeling of pointlessness in expanding. It is really very simple - You need gold for your armies, you need gold for buying and equipping hero's, you need gold to support research, all the main parts of the game rely on gold, and gold is the one thing expanding cities do not give you (unless you manage to find a gold mine)! The way gold is calculated in cities now, whereby maintenance costs stab at the very heart of
It is not the hero's that are the problem, it is the squads! Squads are only there as a way to compensate for the limitations of the battle screen so you can physically fit more troops in the battle, then squads 'cheat' in replacement troops if their number is depleted in a battle. It would be better i think if squads were simply a formation that the player has full control to add or remove troops, and the advantage would be that all the units in
Almost... but try to pick your best producing town and send all the caravans to it, also producing towns can just as easily send caravans there as well. I would personally love to be able to get a nice road network up and running first then destroy the caravans/rebuild and send it to the producing city, but i never know which caravan to delete, their not labeled which city they are from, so I'm not able to do the above idea.
Caravans don't carry food. They arrive at a town and cause a percentage bonus to the food already produced there. So you can send a caravan from a town with no farm at all, and it will still create a food bonus in the town where it arrives. it is a percentage bonus, so the more caravans you can get arriving to the same town, the percentages will stack up nicely! Before when i played without knowing this above facts, i had positive food in an average game of say around 30 and also havi
In 109E, I find that what a plain city brings to the game is not enough to justify the effort of keeping it. Food is not really an issue in 109, neither is iron or materials. Primarily you need gold, so a city with a gold mine is the most valuable, then there are cities with lost libraries/temples, crystal crags and shards relevant to your sovereign. Research is the one aspect that does put some pressure for more cities - since you definitely do not want any research b
Hi, When the game starts getting advanced, and i have lots of units and towns.... Any easy way of finding idle units? 'idle' meaning units without orders, including MOVE ORDERS after the auto scroll units stalls? I usually have to scroll through all the units that do have move orders in order to locate the ones that do not, and it is very tiresome! Edit: it is getting so tiresome that it is beginning to turn into a game killer of a problem! Perhaps the larger question
Most of my hero's are around level 4 by now, so it would be tough going to get them imbued relying on leveling up and having only 1 ring, even including essence potions! My hero's are using longbows anyway, (a couple with powerful swords) so realistically i would only need 2 or 3 with enough manna to cast inferno and my sovereign will be using all it's manna on telleport, that should do me. I have never used hero special abilities, probably never will owing to the fact that they don't
Heavenfall - so the sovereign and imbueing is not involved? cpl_rk - hmmm, i think one time i got the ring from a treasure? In my current game i thought i got it with the mission involving a key, not sure? Nevertheless, it would require allot of work to have every hero in your kingdom with essence, so i would say you would have earn't it!
In an old thread somewhere a while back, i saw someone mention something about an essence ring that can somehow be used to imbue champions and avoid reducing the essence of your sovereign? I was wondering if this still applies with the latest updates and how exactly can it be done? I found an essence ring in my current game but it gives the Hero only 1 manna which is not much use for anything at all?
The movement bonus only applies to the unit equipped with the horse. You will notice some hero's are allowed to wear speed boots/cloaks and others are not. The ones that are not allowed to wear speed boots/cloaks can be given horses. But then if you can easily afford it, you can give horses to all your hero's and replace the speed boots/cloaks with some more armor. Good question on the Hero's? I have assumed such Hero as a farmer or miner needs to be in the specific town, but to be ho
