GalCiv for OS/2 had this. People didn't like it for some reason. But maybe we're reaching a point where we can bring it back. In the code, we use a number anyway.
Frogboy
Agreed. The change has already been made internally to have it based on their personality and will be more picky about when and how they build it. So they won't build it as early but when they do it'll be a lot tougher to conqeur the city that does it.
Actually, our toilets are handicap accessible. ;) We even had ramps built to get people into the building and we have a "quiet" room or people to lay down. And a nutritionist, And a personal fitness trainer. :D The point about humor is that context is everything. You take away context and suddenly you end up with someone just saying "Hey, your nipples look better on TV than mine!" and people being Aghast! ;)
And there's various forums where they talk about how horrible this was. And then there was that Porsche parking incident.....
Oh that's a good one too. So one day *after* work hours I drove in and parked my car across two handicap spots to run up and take a picture. However, we had a guest in the building show snapped off a picture and uploaded it and when someone complained to us, the sales person w
How would that work? How does Steam being available on Linux make it easier to make Linux games? Did they port DirectX 9? ;)
Looks interesting.
It is true. I *am* pretty neglected.. ;)
Kill stealing is a pretty old tactic. :) That said, I think overall, regarding all AI issues in general is that this stuff will just have to evolve slowly over time. There is no substitute for it. There will probably be a FE 1.4 but eventually new development will go into Legendary Heroes releases exclusively and then after that. The AI in GalCiv II got to be so good because it benefited from years and years of work. Even Civilization V has lots of code fro
My general view is that if you have a passion to run your own business and you're young, single, no kids, there's no better time to at least try it. If it fails, at least you never look back wondering "what might have been". And in our industry, business relationships are much more flexible. Jon's just a Skype window away for me to ping him on any number of things (from music composition to medieval history to game design to birds). It&#
I'll pass these on to Derek. Remember, I'm just the AI drone. ;)
Steam rolling vs. end game morass are two sides of the same coin. Nothing is more annoying to me than knowing I'm going to win the game...eventually and having to trudge forward anyway.
He didn't "quit" in the way you are inferring. We moved him to a consulting position so that he could try his hand at starting his own studio. Stardockians are helping in their off-hours. Jon's work at Stardock has been extremely helpful. It'll only be with the passage of time that people get to see just how much positive impact he has had. And BTW, his Kickstarter succeeded in like 2 days. If you or anyone else has some issue with Jon, please take it e
quoting post FUN! Generally speaking, FE 1.3 is just a lot more fun. That said, the best way to make the game more enjoyable is to get more units for each side. The AI doesn’t design its own units. It uses what you create. The more units you give a faction, the smarter the AI gets. Don't get this. I have to design units for a faction in one game and then later play against that faction in a

I think this is a good idea, only bad part is the owner will lose out on any 1 or 2 turn chance to regain it. Good post, at least for making me consider

Go ahead and add to this. we'll check this out and see what we can include in the game.
Sounds like witchcraft to me.
I like what I see.
What's ironic is that at one time, I pushed for 3 radically different damage types: Mundane, Arcane and Elemental with corresponding types of protectiosn against them. Was great on paper. Absolutely sucked in practice. Worked fine in GalCiv but here it was just amazingly tedious.
I have added a new forum called the Kickstarter forum. It'll slowly propagate through the Stardock ecosystem. Use this to promote Kickstarters you like.
Thanks for the kind words!
