I still wouldn't mind having somekind of resource selection setup during the faction/sov creation stage
- could have something like 6 points to spend:
(for each additional item after the first an extra point cost is added, 1 gold mine = 1 point, 2 gold mines equals 3 points, 3 gold mines = 6 points)
(All are to be added within 4-6? tiles of starting location)
Gold mine - 1 point
Crystal mine - 1 point
Clay mine - 1 point
horses - 1 point
worgs - 1 point
influence spot - 1 point
Food resource - 1 point
Shard of given type - 1 point
'patch of woods' - 1 point (grants a small placement of woods next to your starting location)
'river' - 1 point (grants a small placement of water next to your starting location)
extra hero - 1 point
raise starting spot stats - 1 point (a 3/3/2 spot could be increased by one to make it a 4/3/2 or a 3/3/3 & so on, 2 point increase in grain would cost 3 points, 3 point increase would cost 6 points)
This I think would give us the starting place needed to work with the options givin in the faction/sov creator - for instance, no more setting up your empire to be heavy horses + heavy armor with no magic or long range only to get a spot that has 2 shrines with no metal or horses
Think of being a mage having up to 3 of your preferred shrines starting off
