[balance] recruit champions updated to 0.90

i think it should go back to lvl 1-5 instead of 1-9

lvl 9 (and some lvl 7) champions are from good (some might be more close to god) to veeeeery strong

the tech to recruit them is very fast to get and the money sometimes is high but money is not a problem in the game and you can save a bit considering what you are gonna get

also the balance between champions and sovereign imo should make the sovereign nearly always stronger with few exceptions but right now you can recruit lvl 9 ppl when sovereign is lvl 3 or so, they also come with great gear like mounts and decent weapons which is fine for mid game but broken early

The recruiting of champions does not really seem to work. It feels very contrived. Seems like that a "recuriting station" or "mercanaries guild" would be a better solution, similar to the way they are recruited in HOMM. Of course you would have to find a way to ensure that a person could not recruit unlimited champions.

so champions not killable anymore but hireable in multi hubs like someone suggested for quests?

dunno from 1 side i like the champions being around but surely there is some flaw, they are too easy to kill and its just a bad mechanic of first come first serve

but i cant think of any improvement tbh so maybe your view is better

this issue is still there imo, i played a bit in 0.90 and rushing lvl 9 champions is totally broken, in my last game i could get them when my sovereign was lvl 6, they had new skills too which is cool ok but add that to free sets of chain, mounts and basically unkillable tanks...

they are just over the top op
