To add some flavor to NPC interactions I would like to see NPCs have a morality rating that would affect the sovereign's abiltiy to recruit them.
If the sovereign's morality rating is below the below the NPCs you can talk to them but you can't hire them OR the NPCs demands a larger incentive payment to accept your offer.
Example: A sovereign with a morality rating of 100 meets an NPC of Morality rating 80. This NPC will agree to work for the sovereign as the sovereign has a higher morality rating. Later the Sovereign slays 4 NPCs and his morality rating declines to 80. He meets an NPC scholar with a morality rating of 90 and this NPC refuses to work for the sovereign. He then meets an Assassin; morality rating, 20, who gladly accepts the employment offer from the sovereign (who has a morality rating of 80).
The sovereign's morality rating declines when he slays NPCs of his fraction (Empire or Kingdom).
- Example: A Trog Sovereign (Empire) that slays an NPC of Altair (Kingdom) would not suffer a penalty to his morality rating
- Example: An Altair Sovereign (Kingdom) that slays an NPC of Mancer (Kingdom) would suffer a penalty to his morality rating
Completing quests may increase the morality rating of a sovereign.
- Example: Sovereign rescues the daughter of a noble and his morality rating increases by 5 (to a maximum of 100)
Each NPC could have up to 4 convesations stored; to be used with different morality rated sovereigns
Example 01: Yes, I will join you for 54 GP (if Sovereign's Morality rating is >X)
Example 02: I would never serve the likes of a despot like you. (If Sovereign's Morality Rating is <X)
