Yeah, I'm pretty weirded out about the whole stability thing. My Elemental games under 1.09p have been VERY STABLE, with just occasional crashes that I easily recover from (reload the autosave). I've been seeing stability issues all the way up to 1.09e (and n, o). So, for my configuration, stability is pretty much solved, although I haven't made it to Spring 240 yet...
Memory usage is much better now. It floats around 80-90% a lot now (2 gigs ram, Vista home 32 bit, Turion 64 x2, Radeon HD2600). Before, I'd see OOM's. and 98% memory usage was common. Haven't seen a single OOM with this build.
So why is my game (and quite a few others here) so much more stable, yet we have people still having huge stability issues? Stardock obviously has a handle on the problem in my case, but these other people wouldn't know any different, since they still have issues. I'm sure the developers are hard at work on that question, but it disheartens me to know I'm having a good time and some others are not. If they could just play on my computer, they could see just how fun the game is now, even in it's 'newly unfinished' state!
I'd blame Intel processors just because (I like rooting for the little guy), but I know that's very likely not it. Hopefully, those wanting to play a fully stable version of Elemental on their own computer get their wish soon, because this game has a lot of potential, and has realized a good amount of potential as is!
