Combat system much better (but what are those blue dots for?)

Just got the latest version and very pleased to see that the parties seem to now attack as a collection of individuals and lose stats as members die (either that or I've been very unlucky with my parties of peasants). A single hero with decent defence now does much better - and nice to see some special abilities in as well.

 

Couple of things: anyone know what those blue dots are for next to the city icons on the top left? (red ones are garrisoned units).

Also, many spells seem to have lost their special effects...

Yeah, the red dots are units stationed or grouped. I believe the blue dots are buildings constructed. I honestly wouldn't mind it if the blue dots... vanished.

Blue dots indicate buildings.
