When I selected a Custom Faction after creating a Custom Sovereign, the game crashed to desktop.

Did you select the custom Empire option? Others have reported a crash with that particular one as well (custom Kingdoms should work).
It was a Kingdom custom faction, not an Empire one.
I have this same crash and also with Kingdom custom faction. Should I upload the Debugg.err and Dxdiag (I can't find the memory dumps despite looking everywhere) even though it's already reported?
