I have the same bug, but only with custom factions.

There is no graphics on research screen either. (cant make screenshot ).

This happened to me too, was using a custom Sovereign (Wraith) with a custom race (Wraith) with Empire ideology...only happened in 1st game, did not happen after. Can post a screenie when I get home from work, but basically all the techs are blank grey, it is very odd.

BTW, to take a screenshot hit the 'print screen' button on your keyboard, then go to \my documents\my games\elemental\screenshots folder to get the pic.

Yes, that is exactly it. I won't post mine now, no sense in having multiple pics of the same problem

Same here, also with a custom Wraith and a custom faction. Will try with predesigned Empires tomorrow.

Should be fixed internally.
