[question] magical combat counted into rating?

the feeling while playing 2b is that its way harder to defeat enemies, in 2a i was focusing more on a fighter route increasing attack and defense while in this build im focusing ofc on magical stats

the problem is i find very hard even to defeat bandits and spiders, often my heroes die and even my sovereign its hard to lvl up

how you guys play this build? do you still focus on normal combat stats to make it easier questing? or is there any trick im not aware of?

A couple things that I've seen in 2B.

You need to learn the various summon spells. And keep them with your King. Keep your armies strong, but summoning new units as your points allow.

There is also a misnamed spell called Famine. It will summon a troll. He's a good strong fighter, so I would give him a shot too.

Those are the most immediate choices I can see that can help.

yeah i noticed that too in the last game, its decent but cant compare to what you had in 2a

anyway could you manage to lvl up your sovereign like b4 ? could you defeat strong beasts ?

Anything with a 100+HP, I just stay away from them. I have tested my SoV's abilty to die easily enough. It works very well. >:(

My issue is the (undocumented) SoV death and Game ending Loss. It seems after 2 SoV deaths, while I still have a growing City. It can be frustrating when you get caught "pants down."

I must add though that I was surprised, but liked the idea, that you can get branded a Murdering B-atch if you Kill recruits without proper cause. LOL

Sadly. I have yet to find the proper good cause though. Maybe the 2 are linked. Hmmmmm  :ninja:

End of John_Hughes's quote

Forgive me if I'm pointing out something obvious you already know, but.. you are aware that they've changed it so losing a fight ("using some of your power to escape a battle") causes essence loss, and you permanently die (lose the game) if you lose a fight with 0 essence? Not sure when exactly that was implemented (I try not to make a habit of dying, hah) but I noticed it first in Beta 2A, and I'm pretty sure it's different from back in Beta 1.

If I misunderstand and you're talking about a genuinely buggy Sovereign death/game loss while you still have essence left and don't have the "Stubborn" trait either, ignore this.

They'll include magic into combat later. Plus tactical combat will likely have spells as well.
