I have experienced a strange thing: the info card for a troll doesn't display the picture of the troll but instead of a black entry.

I have clicked on a troll and put the mouse over the second one.
I had a picture for the troll, but after quitting Elemental, restarting, and loading the last autosave, I see the black infocard like you do. I wonder if this is a result of the changes made to the saved game format for this build?
Same thing for black widows.
Apparently the game is trying to generate portraits for these guys, which is failing (since they're not really ment to have portraits generated for them). I THINK this may be fixed internally, but I'll notify the team regardless.
After reloading I had the issues. For me it also happened for the Ebben Wolfs from the quest I had earned before reloading the save game.
I have had it occur in the same game for trolls, spiders and ebben wolves so far
