That's just a bad choice of tactical colors on our part. Those need to be tweaked so they stand out regardless of the BG.

hehe Need this one deleted?
That was actually one of Brads concerns too for the beta, but when the game goes gold (and around Beta4) there are going to be 5 styles of ship in the game, and ATM you're only seeing 2, both of which are very Alien in design. The other 3 designs (one of which is the Human Style) are alot simpler. Also, the ships make alot more sense with the textures on, but that'll have to wait 'till Beta 3 or 4 <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Wink.gif"
This week was all about bugs , as you'll be able to tell from Mudflap's journal. After all the activation crap players had to put up with with the original Beta2, we figured a good ol' fashioned "Bug Fixes" build would be much more appreciated. If you've played 0.21 it you should notice a stab
EvilRoy: Great Feedback! Thanks for the suggestions and concerns...we'll log these items in our list! Hrothgar: If you get another hung game, could you email the Debug.err file to [email protected] . Hopefully some of that data will help us track down the bug. As for the Invasion screen, you'll want to press the space bar on this screen to
Yeah, they're just small and they lack a "tactical" icon...if you zoom in enough you'll wee them. And just so you know the GFX for the sensor drone aren't finalized, so they will be more apparent in the final game promise.
In GalCiv 1 that was part of the "Domestic Governors" window, where you could toggle those ships as obsolete or active...so it's coming, it's just not in yet ;0
Sony already has a pretty impressive server infrastructure for MMORPGs that's already running SW:Galaxiesand EQ 1 & 2, so one more title shouldn't be too difficult to burdon. Poor 'Matrix' liscence...I just hope that after "Path of Neo" they'll stop dragging the franchise out and let it die in peace
Yeah, ironically there are a few bugs in smart exception itself, but since the coder on it is also working on Windowblinds and some other 'not free' products, work on it tends to be pushed to the backburner Hopefully we'll get a more reliable version for our next big release....till then, we just have to appreciate when it DOES work <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Wi
You can email them to me ( [email protected] ) and i'll fileter them out to the appropriate people. This is definatly an exploit we want to snuff out, so we'll try and get it fixed asap. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey Jack! I actually experienced this once in Beta1, but it hasn't happened since so I figured it got fixed somehow. I'll put this on our bug list and try to find a reproducable scenerio
That's the plan...the info icons have a bit of tweaking to do, mostly when it comes to filtering options. I'll bump this up on our priority list.
Could you send your debug.err file (should be located in root "galciv2" folder) to [email protected] . I havn't seen this before, but that's definatly a large bug. We'll try and get it fixed ASAP.
Yeah, all enemy initiated invasions crash the game. We'll get this fixed for the next build.
I don't know if speeding up the mouse is possible without accessing the actual windows "mouse speed" data, but I can see putting a slider in the options window that tweaks the mouse, then reverts to the normal speed when the game closes. We may be also able to tweak the size of some of the other windows as the resolution changes, but i have a feeling that that without also being able to scale the font (which would be considerably more time consuming) players will always feel that thes
Yuck...I dont think I've ever heard of GC actually BLUESCREENING a player. For now, make sure you have the most recient DirectX and ATI Mobility drivers. If you have/get those and it's still crashing, please send your debug.err info to [email protected] and we'll try and get to the bottom of this. Sorry about the crash...hopefully we can fix it soon
Do I get my picture on a plaque to hang somewhere on the forum? And yes I have better things to do on a Friday night...I'd just rather make that picture
OTNList: I have a feeling that CTD could be caused by clicking through the auto-save. We'll do some test to see if we can cure that crash.
Yeah, I could totally see some toggles in the options screen to set what news items you want to see. THis sort of customization will make the feature more robust and less annoying for players that don't want to use it.
Hey Lowa11! Unfourtunatly Beta 3 is going to be out in mid-August so it'll be a bit late for your trip this month. However, we should be putting out another 1-2 builds before then that will clean up some of the crashes in Beta 2, so perhaps you will still get a chance to play throug a full game on your trip! And remember, as you play these early betas be sure to post any suggestions and comments you'd like to see in the final game! We're always looking for fresh id
Screw 'little'...our shockwave is gonna be so huge it'll be..well...shocking
Black Ships with Custom Races: This can be fixed by setting your race's ship color in the Appearance tab when designing your custom race. In the future, though, we will be making the default custom race's colors more noticable. Cant See Ship being Built on Starport Window: Good call..we'll get that into the UI. News Icons: Those are still in the game, they've just been moved to the right side of the screen. This mechanic still has some tweaking to be done, but I do
Just planets...sorry zam
One argument that arose concerning the 'Auto-Launch' option (in GC1) is wether or not it became superfluous once Rally Points were introduced. If we let you easilly set a rally point for a planet as to where you want produced ships to be sent, does an AutoLaunch option become obsolete?
Thanks for the feedback DH...we'll log those bugs and try to get them fixed for the next build!
