No,I think it's a cool idea....I mean, you're spending alot to make that constructor...if you want to use it to up your sensor radius I think it should be the player's choice. And it won't make sensor probes obsolete since starbases can't move, making the buoys a bit more versatile.

Is there any way you could take a screenshot to show what kind of graphics degradation you're getting, and exactly what kind of video card you're running on so we can try to reproduce it? Thanks
This is by design...some planets just won't be upgradable. If enough people complain though, I'm sure this can be tweaked...though I think it should be less common.
The art team is curretnly wrapping up work on all the ship hulls and will move on to finsh up all the different "structural" components for the game. Once we have all the assets in, the team will be taking a few days out to designs TONS of ships that both the AI and the human player will automatically have at their disposal. If you want to tweak them, you'll have that ability, but our plan is to have enough pre-made designs so players that don't want to mass with ship design won
She should always have rings, jsut sometimes they may be so small, and saturn so big, that they're invisible. This is a definatly cosmetic bug that well put on our to-do list.
>>Maybe Your people "persuaded" you to join the Technolgists?... I wish it was being that clever...It's actually just getting into negative number when trying to distribute the votes and screwing up the numbers But I promise, next build I'll get that fixed for everyone
>>When wheeling and dealing with the aliens, they will often agree to give me a certain amount of credits on top of a technology ... but the credits don't appear to ever get into my bank account! Yeah, this one bit me in the butt 3 times before I realized I wasn't getting the money from the trades Damn you Stardock employees!!!!....oh, wait
Ah yes..I beleive this to be a bug concerning the "*.RaceConfig" filetype. Go into your "GalCiv2/Data" folder and delete all files of this type and see if you get the proper alignment. This will be fixed in code soon, but for now I think this will temporarilly solve the problem
This has been fixed for the next update.
Keep em comin thats what this beta is for...polish, polish, polish!
Sounds like a window overlay issue. We'll look into it Thanks cripsy!
Yeah, the "Report Window" and "First Time Event" (first colony, anomaly, ect) text all needs to be tweaked for GC2. Hopefully it should all be fixed for alien text though, so let us know if an alien call you the humans by accident
I wish we were working normal hours, but no, last week was one of the craziest crunch-times I've ever been through...and we're STILL not happy with Beta4 But hopefully higher standards on our end will meen a more exciting play-through when Beta4 finally rolls in
Hey KIY, Thanks for the feedback...we're definatly trying to keep the game true to the first, but also change some around to reflect the new spirt of the game. I'll only talk about the Drath beacuse there's so much to get done before the beta It was my call the change around the Drath to make him more wise-old-man looking. The one from Altarian Prophacy was more vile looking because they were the new vill
This still has some tweaking to do, but yeah, in the final game, you should end up seeing gfx for all equiped weapons.
As Astax pointed out GalCiv star sytems have a 5 planet limit, but I don't think there's any reason we can't pick a few of the more popular planets to place around Sol I would suggest Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto....but if anyone has other suggestions just drop em here!
I was joking around about disagreeing with the feature (hence the ' ')...tooltips in general need alot of lovin, and should be in for the Beta 4 release.
How about letting the user upgrade their stats when a new level is reached on a ship (ala RPGs), but you can only upgrade a stat that is <= 1. For example, a ship with MassDrivers:2 Shields: 1, and Armor:3 reaches level 2. The user gets 2 stat points to spend, but can only use it on the above stats, propulsion, range, or sensors (no 'suddenly the ship has lasers' nonsense). This would add a fun bit of extra customization on well established ships, without giving the ships
Yeah, this has been noted as a bug and will be fixed for the next beta.
No, I disagree solely on the fact that I'd probably have to implement it (but deep down I actually agree )
Starcat: Ooooh....random events baced on specific types of planetary improvement I like it! I'll try and squeeze this into our otehrwise bloated schedule! KiRon: Your right, Frogboy (the Game Designer for GC2) WANTS players to have specific planets throughout their empire. Player's will already be forced to deal with keeping their citizens happy with "Entertainment" projects...It'd seriously sap out the fun i
Could you send that save file to [email protected] , we'll take a look at it and see what the problem is Thanks!
Razul: If you have the GC2 beta installed, just go to the /music directory and play the MP3 files in your Media Player. If you don't have the beta, then I'm afraid you'll jsut have to wait for the game to be released, or for the demo Sorry. Kevin: That was added by the music guy, who never officially told us what's being said If you figure it out...be
Logged as a Feature Request (one that I agree with) and passed on to the coders Thanks PC!
Reproduced, Logged, and begging to be fixed Thanks guys!
