Crumbut: I don't know where you got the idea that I thought you were new. You're right that I don't know you, but I've been reading your posts (and enjoying your skins) for quite a long time, first on Skinz and now here, and I don't recall you going off like that, especially in two different threads. That's why I asked if you were having a bad day. And I know you were just voicing your opinion. So was I. Isn't that the point of this board?

Crumbut: Of COURSE it revolves around the mighty buck. If you don't think money is important, why don't YOU host the site? It's always nice to spend someone else's money. The reason why it's an issue now and not before is because traffic has FAR exceeded expectations. Therefore, it's way overbudget. I like bright skins, with black on white text for messages, so that rules out several skins as a potential favorite, though they may be great eye candy. I'd have to say my current favorite is Sylvester, with WinXP Silver a close second. WinXP Silver might be a little better artistically, but I love Sylvester's color scheme. CygnusXII: Then how do you explain the LiteStep and NextStart sections?
SickPuppy: Tweak UI and Xteq's X-Setup both work fine in WXP. You may one to create a Restore point first, though, just to be safe. Good point about most people going from W98 to WXP. That's a major upgrade, even without the Pro extras.
All those big themes, huh? Plus, all the new DX users. Interesting.
Are you using the Immersion desktop? If so, I think you have to run it after WindowBlinds. Or maybe it's before; I don't remember.

paxx: You can do a clean install of a Windows upgrade. You only have to have a qualifying OS disc handy when it asks you for one, so it can ensure that you're really upgrading. If you don't have a qualifying Windows disc (restore discs don't work), I believe the full prices are $200 for Home and $400 for Pro, but I'm not sure.

Grog: Funny you mentioned your Linksys card. My driver was causing all kinds of BSODs in W2K, but it works just fine in WXP. paxx: Retail prices for WXP are roughly $100 to upgrade to WXP Home, and $200 to upgrade to WXP Pro.

That or it's not considered a priority. I find it hard to believe that a programmer with Alberto's talent would have any trouble combining Start menus if he wanted to. The last time I asked about this, Brad told me how to assign my button to the regular Start menu, so I guess it's not considered a priority. Some advantages over W2K: System Restore. User Swapping. Built-in CD burning using the Explorer interface. Windows Medial Player 8. Much, much better Explorer (though the public IE6 may change that). Better Start menu (IMO). Luna. Even if you don't like it, they've expanded the framework for skinning programs such as WindowBlinds. Many cool graphics things other than Luna, such as 32-bit icons and drop shadows on icon label
