[Conspiracy Hat & Sarcasm On] Anyone else notice the title of the thread? Two weeks from Tomorrow... what!!??!! The game has been delayed to the 25th of August. I can't believe it. I bet it is because it is not ready and they really are going to delay until next February. I had my whole life planned around an 12:01 am release on the 24th, now I am going to lose my job, wife, kids, and my neighbor's dog

That reminds me, I've got to go order the kindle version of Destiny's Embers. Will we get the "bonus campaign" with the kindle version of the book too, or just the hardcopy? Looking forward to special abilities. :)
Yes, they have world unique buildings that can be built (great mill is an example, cranks out 8 resources/turn). Interested to see what is available in the final release version.
This was all done in C#. Simply for the ease of use with Windows Forms and the easy interface with XML. This could be ported to WMF or Silverlight, and I may still do that if I want it to be more visually impressive. I may wait and see what editor tools we get from SD.
However I missed the color buttons, didn't think they were set to white... Pretty interesting colors as a result
LOL. [e digicons]:D[/e] So do you think I should set the colors to some other color patter by default? It's easy to change. I was thinking of putting that in the player settings/options (preferred colors) so that it would set that to your favorites by d
Sounds great. Should definitely be doable.
I like randomness. I'd be interested in contributing to a project that did this. Of course, I'm not sure how you could do this dynamically as you play the game. More likely you would have to randomize the world/map xml after it is generated. Otherwise you could generate new goodie huts randomly before world creation that could then be chosen by the generator. Either way, should add more variety to the game.
I've release the intial version of the faction editor. Maybe it can help until the official editor is released. Comment, Download, Criticize here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/390184
You rule, Murteas. Seriously, my gratitude is boundless. Thanks for putting in so much effort for the player community. Much as I love the devs for their hard work, I really, really don't care for text editing. I've done some 5th gen programming, and it pains me a great deal. I don't know what to think about the devs' decision on this, but your decision to put together a user friendly editor on your own, despite the complexity, makes me
Hey, very interesting mod However, I've got some problem running it; it says "unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application". I guess it has something to do with .NET but I'm not quite sure.
Indeed, it does require the latest .net run time which you can get here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/a
OK - I've added a link to the initial version of the faction editor. Obviously it is still a work in progress. Right now it just lists the defaults in the base game xml (although you can type in your own values for anything). You can't load xml (that is a bit harder than you might think, so it is on the list for the future.). Same rules apply as in Frogboy's post, you can't just put any race down or logo down and expect it to show up if you haven't defined the xml i
Did you make sure and check show beta and pre-release versions in impulse?
The faction editor I'm working on has the standard Color Picker from windows which lets you choose a pre-defined color or make your own. Then takes the RGBA from the color picker and puts in the xml.
Which interview was this? G4? I hope we get the tool, despite my efforts in my own faction editor, I would love to have something from the developers, it will be much more usable/interesting.
Yeah, I definitely will go with tabs as I continue to work on this. It will be too unwieldy otherwise. RavenX, I certainly hope so, I would like nothing more than to have this tool made obsolete by SD produced tools. :) But it is my small contribution to the community.
Not sure if this will help anyone, but mucking around in VS 2010 got me this pretty little XSD....enjoy. Reduced 18%Original 1836 x 2376
Icepick - How did you generate the XSD? Just using the coreRaces.xml and having VS 2010 generate it? I am working on a faction editor, so this could definitely be useful for me.
Thanks for the encouragement. I can see now why they didn't continue to make a UI for it. There are a ton of options. I haven't even added in the racial bonuses yet and I am already having scrollbars all over the place. In any case, I'll get something out and see what suggestions people have and then go back and edit and make it better.
I'm working on a faction editor. Still in the pre-release stages, but hopefully this will help out a few people that are anxious about editing xml. You can see a screenshot here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/390184

Great ideas. This would add a lot to the quests.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 2It would be great if someone could gather this stuff together. I'll be writing this stuff from the airplane on the way to G4. At G4, I will be demoing the internal version of the game which looks somewhat different from the public beta (different UI). Ok, here's the beginnings of the thread to gather it all up: https://forums.elementalgame.com/390029
Great. &nb

I'm going to try to reinstall everything before I start crying, though. Props on how amazingly awesome Impulse:Reactor and the Mod upload/download looks, though. I was taken aback by how delightfully Elementalesque it all looked when I opened it up. It helps that I have an awesome a
I have been playing around with the tile editor trying to make a circle out of the dungeon quarter circle pieces in misc. and I noticed that the rotate z & rotate y sliders are rotating around the same axis (the y axis). Anyone else run into this? Having fun in any case.
It's been moved to the workshop (i.e. modding area). We don't know precisely how it is going to work, but rest assured, you will all be able to fall to my mighty frogs of doom. [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e] [e digicons];P[/e]
