Really like the direction the game is heading. Derek, you've done a great job on getting Fallen Enchantress to have it's own personality. Bottom line for me is the game is fun.
Murteas
The Obsession spell ability that a few heroes have shows up in the combat instead of on the strategic map where it could be put to use. I believe the problem is in the xml in the CoreAbilities.xml file on line 5277:
Obsession Allows the unit to cast Obsession</Descr
Oh, link would be good wouldn't it...duh.. [e digicons][/e] Yes, the xml file is included for the logos, but they still don't show up in the faction editor. :grrrr: Let me know if you need something specific (like for expanded factions for example).
Just a note, that if you are interested in trying some new banners feel free to check this mod out. Let me know if you find it too hard to edit the xml and I will think about making an editor to change the logo for you in the xml. https://forums.elementalgame.com/423899 enjoy!
Hi all I thought I would share some of the banners I have made for custom factions in my own games. I find it fun to create them and use them in game. Download
Frogboy is the founder/owner/ceo of stardock. So, he was indeed the ceo when he did the ai of the other games. Honestly, the AI for this type of game is very difficult. The possibilities are so varied that it is a big challenge. There is work to do, but right now the ai is doing a pretty good job at some things. As the balance gets worked out and the AI priorities get set correctly you'll see an improvement. The things they are doing wrong are not so
I think that Backspace will stop the movement of the unit.
BTW - Ctrl +S is quick save. The injuries are a result of the champions being too overpowered in the first beta. There needed to be some risk to using them as a one man army. It is still a viable strategy but has the risk of getting them an injury. That said, I think there should be a high level spell that removes injuries.
Awesome play through. This was a blast to watch. :) Firestorm FTW!
Excellent. I just have to say, that I had a blast playing for a while Saturday night. Definitely had that one more turn feel to it. Looking forward to the balance passes and exploring the changes.
I've noticed that in .91 that opponents are randomized. Thank you. Such a small thing that I really enjoy. [e digicons][/e]
Choose normal for the world difficulty and Challenging for the opponent difficulty. That is what you want and there are no bonuses to you or AI.
Thanks. I'll check it out over my lunch break. :)
The download is unavailable for some reason for me. I wonder what's up. Maybe it is rapidshare behind the proxy & firewall I have here at work. Any chance of another mirror? If not I'll try to get it when I get home.
I'm really enjoying the game. I find I want to play the beta more than the other games I have. I am of course looking forward to the balance passes and the additional content (more heroes, quests, events please). I enjoy the randomness of the tech tree that some seem to hate. Overall, this seems like such a good game at the moment, that I find it hard to see why some would call it fair. I love the direction the game is going an
The AI needs some actual intelligence. I'm beginning to think the setting of "Challenging" is more reflective on the AI's state of mind rather than the game difficulty. Empire declares war on me. They have over double the points that I do. They never attack. I wander into their realm with 3 people (sovereign and 2 heroes) and wipe them out easily in two battles. Exact same story for another empire. Except they had
Actually skin color is why I always create my custom factions with my own faction generator. I like my factions to have either blue or green skin most of the time. Don't know why.
I like in part, but dislike it being an "all or nothing" approach. Yeah, using WMD's is likely to piss off a lot of people, but not to the point of everyone else declaring war, no exceptions. The more evil races would likely be cool with it regardless, and others would see it as justified against those races, and regardless of moral leanings allies would be more understanding when dealing with a mutual foe. If there oth
I really want to say that I prefer gameplay over eye-candy, but I think that the visual differentiation as well as the stat differences will make this game much more enjoyable. Looking forward to trying the new factions out.
Heavenfall, thanks for the fix. Just curious, what is the primary problem when designing your own sovereign with these factions?
Looks like the Ice Giants (at least the sovereign) have a strategic movement bug. After a battle they get a large increase in strategic movement. After the 1st battle I had 18 moves, after the 2nd I had 26. I haven't played with any of their units yet to see if that is related to immovable glacier or something else.
Played for 20 mins last night (:grumble kids taking my playing time: :) ). Looks good so far, no problems. I'll play a bit more today. [e digicons][/e]
Wohoo! I'll try it out at lunch (assuming my work laptop can handle the memory requirements). Great job!
I am certainly willing to step in to help this effort if it is needed. I'll keep an eye on this in particular once we get "The Spreadsheet" .
I like the look of the multi-tile cities, but I think from a game standpoint I would really prefer the 1 tile cities.
