Okay, time for the frost giants. A few different ideas here, but I'm not sure if they fit what you want, so feel free to give suggestions according to what direction you want to go with them. <img

See if this will work better.
I prefer the Anvil I think. Although I think either could work depending on what you what to emphasize. Any changes you want to either?
Here are a couple of pirate logos. The skull is made by http://byskell.wordpress.com/ all credit belongs to him for the skull. <img style="vertical-ali
Ok, here are some Dwarf banners. Let me know what you think. <img style="float: left;" src="h
Heavenfall, I'll start working on them. I'll put something up as soon as I have some samples to look at. Kongdej - Thanks! If you are interested, I'd be happy to make a custom flag. It actually isn't that bad to make your own if you want to learn. Have you ever used gimp? http://www.gimp.org/ It is what I use to make the banners. There is a plugin t
Another factor is the differentiation between the factions. They are very different now and how abilities that emphasize the different ways to play the game (special units, unique spells, weaknesses & strengths). The world is more dangerous and alive, and there are new wildlands that are really challenging areas with boss monsters. The AI has gotten a lot better as well. We'll see in the next beta version (beta 4) what changes they make to the city building.
Don't manually type any xml, unless you have to. You can easily create xml using any number of tools (Visual Studio Express is free and is what I use), you can generate a schema for the various xml files if it is something that you need (use the xsd.exe tool from microsoft), otherwise they are fairly straight-forward to generate from c#/java classes if you are familiar with xml structure. edit: I should note that the one exception to the "straight-forwa
I think that if you enter the wildlands then you are subject to the monsters' wrath, and they do in fact target you over others, as you have trespassed into their territory.
Awesome. It looks like I can no longer play on my old laptop at work. I was actually surprised I could get this to run that long on the thing. I'll have to try the latest version at home. Great job as always!
Awesome. I really like the bigger cities so this makes me happy. And I can still use my city's secret underground subway system to move super fast.
I agree with Heavenfall. I've enjoyed the game quite a bit. It handles what it does well, and is different enough from FE that I don't see it taking anyone away from it.
So, you start out with 3 pre-made characters that you can change out for new ones. The customization comes when you level up and or add modifiers to your characters. You will not want to become too attached to your characters as you will lose some of them (Permadeath is not quite clear yet, you typically have to die several times before it is permanent for a character, you don't lose your save or anything). You can customize your characters but not as muc
I don't know how I feel about this. I like having all the graphical niceties that come with have higher requirements. Is it really too much to ask to have people run on low settings if they are running on a laptop with a single core and an outdated graphics card (probably on Win XP 32 bit as well)? OP - Are you running with low graphic settings? Have you turned off the various settings like AA, lighting changes, shadows, etc?
http://www.kratergame.com/ I haven't seen a topic on this game. I just picked it up last week. It has a great atmosphere and game mechanics. It has a Diablo mixed with Baldurs Gate in the setting of Fallout sort of feel. It is still in beta but will be released on June 15th. For $14.99 on steam you really can't go wrong picking it up. In any case they seem to be prett
If you have any other tech/buildings that reduces the cost of heroes, (like the adventurers guild) it will cause this problem. It is a bug.
Hopefully the sovereign and custom faction editors will get a little love when the workshop is opened up. Definitely agree that you should have a way to edit the sovereign besides editing the XML.
That skeleton looks great.
That looks good. Do you need me to make any changes or are you happy with the edit you've done?
I say bring on the 64 bit. Forget Sprites. :)
Here are a few ideas after a little bit of work. Let me know if you like any of the ideas and/or if you want some changes/tweaks to some. <img style="float: left;" src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12727985/Livin
Hooray for multi-threading!!! I finally get to work my hexa-core machine with a game. (Much more enjoyable than video encoding).
Sure, Let me work on it for a bit. I'll let you know when I have something.
I can confirm this bug. Should be relatively easy to reproduce.
This happens when you have the natural leader trait (i.e. heroes are free) and then build something that further reduces the cost (like the adventurers guild). It is a bug and should be reported in the FE support section so they can fix it for the next patch.
