Quoting Neil Banfield, reply 10If you open the fonts control panel (Click start button, type fonts, press enter), scroll down to Segoe UI and double click on it, do you have Segoe UI semibold listed? Shouldn't the installer take care of such details? I wouldn't know, just what I would think anyways. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
We were trying to find out the cause, hence the questions about the p
well got an out of memory error with windows 7 64 bit having 6 gigs of ram most still have a memory leak I noticed that in task manager it was using 3 gigs of ram at one point when i tasked out
Do you mean the game was using 3GB or the entire machine had 3GB in use? Did you apply the third party modification to allow the game to use more memory on 64 bit systems?

Generally speaking a BSOD will be a video driver bug or hardware issue. Assuming perfect drivers and hardware a game should not be capable of causing a BSOD. As you have had issues with other games and you have a more unusual card I would suspect the drivers are the problem here, though as it is AGP it could be the motherboard drivers and not the video card so it is worth making sure you have the latest ones of those too.
That's why we need that frame limiter back in so we don't have to rely on vsync.
You do not need to rely on Vsync to limit the frame rate. The game now has a built in frame rate limiter which will cap the frame rate at your refresh rate (or the nearest it can get - 60 Hz screens tend to cap at 63 fps, 120 Hz screens would cap at 125 - because 1000/60 isn't a round number so you can either go slightly faster, or

Disable forced VSync and see if that helps. VSync can produce horrible results when the frame rate is below the screen refresh rate.

I believe there will be a demo at some point, though I would expect the priority right now is to work on the high priority issues for customers. I would hope to see one in September/early October, but that is just a personal guess.

The framerate will be limited to your monitors current refresh rate and this cannot be disabled. Are you able to provide more information on your setup? Have you forced VSync in your graphics driver control panel?
my 2p on this... I can think of several reasons why one would want to play with a cracked and/or modified version: There's people like me who like to buy the games, keep them mint (and I mean mint : not opened) play it using a cracked version and once you're done with it sell it on ebay or what have you... I believe this is not illegal... I do it all the time, it works great for the kind of game I play to.<br

So much for the "You can uninstall Impulse after installation if you want" that has been touted since it's inception.
There is no phone home scheme in Elemental. It will contact the servers to look for the latest patches so it can inform you about them and likewise it can contact the servers to provide the Impulse Reactor features like chat, f

As I understand it the MP enabling patch has been put back to next week as the priority was to first resolve these performance and other issues which would impact both MP and SP play.
Same here gave a corrupt patch and there was that stupid sad face. So I uninstalled and reinstalled.....seemed to work fine until I try new game. First the game show me the normal loading screen with the "tip of the day" info and after that dissapears it just keeps showing me the background image which "moves" or you rather sorta hower over it(It's loading screen background). EDIT: So I deceided to install all patches(A

I believe save games (and so saved campaigns) from pre 1.06 are not compatible with 1.06. This is unfortunate but backwards compatibility was broken due to some other fixes that had to be made. The performance drop is somewhat unexpected though. Is the main game menu slow too, or does this slowness only show up once you start a game?

I believe that if the game becomes very slow after a tactical battle where the screen went white then that is a different issue and one that has been resolved internally. If the issues continue with a save game (reloading elemental in between) then that is the issue that is still under investigation.

The last I heard some components that elemental uses do not have a 64 bit version. But it may be that has changed as I am involved with the reactor overlay rather than the core game.
