It sounds like the registry keys aren't properly in place on the laptop. Did you do a full install off Impulse or copy it over from the desktop?

Should be fixed in the minor update released early this morning.
Are the disappearing after you alt-tab or out of the blue while playing?
It's something we'd like to do, but unfortunately it would rely on particular backend changes in our forum codebase that are still a ways down the road. It's not really possible at present.
Updating the pdf is on the todo list, I believe.
I got the same exact problem. Tried installing that update by Kyro
What error are you getting? The VC++ runtime will solve that one, so if that did not help you, your issue must be different.
Early game? Late game? Got a save? Once a lot of stuff is going on, some delay is possible in order to process the turn.
Out of curiosity, are you using a laptop cooling pad or anything like that? I don't know if it's still the case, but a couple of years back with GC2 most of these sorts of issues on bootcamp macbooks were caused by heat.
This is just plain untrue, there was a time when it was intended to be MoM 2. More than that it was announced early on that it was intended to be MoM 2.
As I recall, we said right around when we announced the game (if not before) that since we were unable to secure the MoM rights from Atari, we were going to take ideas from all over the genre and make a new game, rather than just trying to make a clone without the MoM title on it. If people are still calling it a MoM se

I'm closing this thread to cut off the personal arguments here, there's really no need for them. For those who wish to continue discussing performance issues, please direct your feedback to the running thread on the subject.
There are ways to "tweak" the city limit in game. When your city is close to things like farms or ore mines, those become "part of the city". Building around these things so they dont connect will save you building space.
AFAIK today's update will make resource improvements not count towards the limit period, so it should behave more consistently now and make that unnecessary.
Are you using any utilities to force games to use particular refresh rates?
I have submitted a request for refund, hopefully that works out, it's frankly more about principle than anything
That is your prerogative as per the GBOR. We're working nonstop to resolve the issues regardless, so hopefully you'll see fit to repurchase at a later time. Closing this thread for now lest it become trollbait.
I added my debug.err, but like I said, it seems to get reset everytime you launch Elemental, and I tried launching Elemental about a dozen times working around the corruption issue.
If you're still seeing the issue then the most recent debug is fine. It should tell us where it's getting stuck at when you try to start.
The 1.07 update we're working on for today should solve most of the battle-related crashes *and* reduce memory usage, especially if you play the battles out a lot.
This is already on our list, but the save may help the devs solve it more quickly since it'll be easier to repro.
Any chance you have a savegame from before this happened that can reproduce it?
The game is supposed to override the regional setting within itself to prevent issues like this from occurring, so yes, the devs are looking into how the system could be overriding the override (as it can cause issues with reading in any sort of data containing decimal values).
Good to see, that they are at least aware of the problem ... even if they didn't show it in any of the threads on this topic or the general bug list. But don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
The master list isn't fully exhaustive--there are other lists too. We're actually working on the new-shards-on-load issue right this moment.
is that mean to be that way after certain level there is no new technology ?
There are techs in most trees that you can research an unlimited number of times once they're unlocked (stacking bonuses), but the chance that they'll appear on breakthrough is only around 25% or less so they can't be cheesed easily. So once you've exhausted a tree you can keep going, but you're not guaranteed to get something every time.
Will I need a subscription or further payment to get game updates like the email implies - or not?
No, and you can download the entire latest version of the game as long as we're around, just as with all our other games. That includes any new content that is or will be added to the base game, such as Campaign Book 2. We can't rule out the possibility of expansions since any timetables for such things are in flux until the post-launch settles down. But you can lo
Stardock should be happy about the fact that even people playing with the cracked version are submitting their debug. Then once it's all back on track, then maybe you can do something about it...
The issue with that is that bad cracks can and do cause new malfunctions in the game, which pirates then try to get support from us for (!) and our time is wasted chasing down such illegitimate reports when we're trying to resolve issues for paying customers as quickly as we ca
