For me it was a blank screen. There were no possible techs to research at all.
I killed one of the other emperors on his town. The town is now mine but he keeps being reborn time and time again. I keep killing him and am gaining levels at a great pace. Looking much better bar the crashes. - Hope these help Loading much better when cut scene disabled. Also these should show how an empires city I came accross had been destroyed but the mine and library which used to be in it's zone of control still had a zone around them. I have exactly the same problem playing Lord Relais, Kingdom of Alta. I could not build lumber mills or mine crystals. The save games also for me are refusing to load so there may be a connected glitch. The only thing is this game lasted the longest of any of the games that I have been playing over the last couple of days. ie before the crash and save games refusing to load.
